Hey guys, so i just wanted to say im new to the forums and thanks for having me.

Now on to the juicy bits, i haven't played 40k in almost, id say 10 years, recently iv been building a new army, well i used to own alot of GK's when they first were on the table and now i find myself re building that army,

what i have so far as follows, (btw this is all new)

----GREY KNIGHTS~~~~~INQUISITOR-----
ARMY

1-10 man squad of GK's in power armour

1-10 man squad of GK's terminators (still on sprue be built soon)

1-IG Valkyrie--(i want to use this as a dedicated transport for an inquisitor)

1-GK's Ven Dread

2-FW Chaplain Ven Dread (to be used as GK's Ven Dread....i just loved the way they look)

1-Landraider (to be painted and used as an inquisitorial landraider) or used as a GK LR but just painted with inquiz colouring. also to be used as a terminus ultra for apoc fights.

1-Landraider Crusader/Redeemer for my GK's

now i know you guys will have noticed i dont have an HQ, its just because i dont know what to pick our use, i want to have a grey knight inquiz army, but i want to have a few HQ choices down the road to choose from, i know i dont like draigio, as everywhere i read he is over used, but i have always liked the lordkaramazov model, plus i hear he can bring down huge orbital strikes which sounds pretty sweet, i also like the idea of Mordak and his ghost knights sounds pretty sweet also. hector rex....solomon lok...i just dont know.

ontop of that i dont even know if i can use my army the way i want to use it. grey knights and inquisitorial stuff together.
after i left the hobby, i found myselff checking back in, and everything and everyone doing grey knights stuff was overrr donee hardcore. and i found myself coming back to the hobby wanting to do something different, they way my army will look, the models in my army, so on and so forth.

but in saying all this i hope you guys or at least someone out there will be able to help an old player out and get me and my army up to playing speed.
if you need anymore information please ask away.!!

(still in modelling/modding/painting phase)

Its really is hard to say what else you need. A Grand Master/brother captain would be the next thing but if you want an inq then it's maybe not the best thing.

Nemesis dreadknight might be worth it (it might not) they were good in the 5th edition codex but in our new one they may be overpriced, underwhelming or a bit of both.

You're asking us to predict what our new codex has in store for us and the only thing we have to go on are rumours and hearsay. 29th of August is when the new codex comes out and it takes at least a week to playtest a few lists to see what's hot and what's not.

well thanks for the reply, i didnt want my question to come across like "what should i get that will be good in the new codex"...i ment my question to sound like..."what else should i get to build upon my army" should i get more termies? another landraider maybe more grey knights in power armour.

Since it doesn't look like prices for our basic kits are going to change, I'd honestly hold off until you have the new Codex in hand before purchasing any more foot soldiers. It could turn out that Strike Squads and Interceptor Squads are terrible, so you'd want to save those 10 power armor bodies for Purifiers (or Purifiers aren't good, etc.). You may also find yourself in the situation where you want those 10 terminators to be Paladins (though these guys are a little easier to swap between slots).

If you're crafty at all, I'd suggest you magnetize the backpacks for the power armor bodies (still kicking myself for not doing that with my Interceptors) so you can swap between Strike and Interceptor as needed.

The only thing that I can suggest that you purchase now would be a Stormraven. It's our best option for anti-air (and a good one at that!) and isn't likely to change all that much. Magnetize the turret weapons and the side doors/hurricane bolters if you can. Your weapon loadout will likely be determined by whether our vehicles keep psybolt ammo or not.

I hope this helps.
