Mentally I still go by that, even though it hasn't been that way for years now.

Currently working on something I call "Khârn Air".  

 

Essentially, Khârn, an apothecary, and 19 true grit, tac marines, in a Storm Eagle, a Fire Raptor, and 20 Assault Marines form the core of the list. Round out to points level with whatever makes you happy that day. For now, my "rounding out" is six dreads; 3 Contemptors, in a talon, and 3 Mortis dreads. Eventually that will change to lots more bodies, more assault marines, primarily, but Rampagers and Destroyers with jump packs, and a couple squads of jetbikes are all primed and waiting  for paint too. So, they'll wind up incorporated at some point. 

 

This weekend will see the last of the assault marines done, then I start the Fire Raptor. September and October will see the tacs, the Storm Eagle, and Khârn get done. The dreads were my first completed figs in the pre-heresy colors.

Hate to burst your bubble Theis, but with an apothecary, 3 dreads in a talon + 3 Mortis, thats 5 elite slots and (unless somethings change or I'm not aware of it) the maximum is 4.

For some reason, I'm really enamored of the idea of Blood Angels Destroyers and Moritats. I'd really like to do something like... a Destroyer cadre during the Siege of Terra: they've always been kind of shunned, sidelined as a necessary evil in extreme situations - and now they're in the most extreme situation that none of them could have ever imagined. Hold the line, hold the walls of the Imperial Palace on Terra itself or the Imperium dies.

I had the idea of 'Lamenter' Destroyer Cadres a while back. They would be deployed only with the greatest reluctance when an enemy was in need of eradication. I drew a lot of my inspiration from the Passover story.

Ok new idea.

 

Omegon kills Alpharius and makes it look like an accident. Ranko becomes depressed, then, the ghost of Alpharius comes along and says Omegon killed him. Ranko then spends the rest of the story trying to work up the guts to kill Omegon. Meanwhile Eldrad is driving by on his way to kill some Orks and Ranko thinks about how much of a coward he is because Eldrad is off killing stuff but he can't work up the guts to kill Omegon. By the time he works up the guts, Omegon is already one step ahead of him.

For my expedition fleet am going to have 3 legions:

 

VIII 'Crimson Sons' Terror Assault. Infantry hold the line, while armour and artillery claws pound the enemy, and terror and raptor squads hit the flanks. Hit the enemy hard causing the most chaos possible.

 

XIX 'Void Ravens' Zone Mortalis Specialist. Breacher marines, shot guns, 'Deliverers' Terminator Squads. Fast moving heavy assault.

 

XX 'Ghost Legion' Recon and Rapid Response. Small flexable veteran squads supported by support teams, headhunter squads and recon marines, fire raptor heavy support. Locate target, execute, and withdraw, leaving no trace.

I intend, in the fullness of time (hopefully around December) to start a small force of XIII Legionnaires. My intention is to paint them a darker shade of blue than is normal, have a set of helmet stripes and model them so that they can be legally used for 40K too (Magnets! ).

I have the topic title all sorted out I even have a (vaguely) decent idea on how the specific Chapter gets its eventual name I just need the money (I swear to Primus if the company bonus falls through, you'll all hear my anguished cry from anywhere on the planet) to get the Beakies, Mark IV, with a sprinkle of Mark III (which I'm liking more and more lately). Needless to say that there will be (more) Chuck Dreads too and I want need a Sicaran tank
