I know how to handle the Necrons, but these new Wolves are unknown to me, any hints or tips yet? SCOTT_FRANCIS Posted August 15, 2014 Author Share Posted August 15, 2014 Well, I lost Mrodrak and the Inquisitor but still have... 10 GK Terminators, 2 x Hammers, 4 x Halberds, 4 x Swords, 2 Psycannons 15 GK Power Armour, 3 x Psycannon, 3 x Halberds, 3 x Hammers, magnetised backpacks so I can take 10 of them as Strikes or Interceptors, the other 5 are Strikes. Storm Raven. Twin Autocannon Dreadnought. May get a Dreadknight. I am thinking, let him charge through my Storm Bolters etc, hit first with my Halberds, take the brunt on my Swords and hit him hard with the Hammers. Lord Ragnarok Posted August 15, 2014 Share Posted August 15, 2014 If he takes what is on paper very good he may bring... 1.storm wolf flyers 2.Storm shield and wolf claw TDAWGS(terminators) (Ss upgrade is free in exchange for power weapon 3. Thunder wolves. They got cheaper, they are not as limited in upgrades and their leadership is one pt higher. 4. If he brings 3 he may bring harald(special character) who buffs the thunder wolves 5. I wouldn't worry about jaws of the world wolf. It's changed and been nerfes 6. May bring empty pods in fast attack with beacons to support manned pods 7. May see wolf guard on bikes. They are less expensive then previous dex and only a few pts more then the slightly merged blood claw bikers. 8. No longer worry about scouts coming from your board edge. 9. Grey hunters are still good but don't be surprised to see blood claws in land raiders and storm wolf flyers due to the BC cost reduction and assault synergy with the storm wolf. Just some things off the top of my head. Dex is new so expect lots of "feeling" out on the changes. SCOTT_FRANCIS Posted August 15, 2014 Author Share Posted August 15, 2014 I imagine we will try and run it A, B, C, and when targetted by any faction in any player turn you can deny, if its a self buff, the intended victim of the buffed squad can try and deny. I think we will go with a joint pool of deny dice (from the D6) and add the faction specific dice to the faction only. e.g. Space Wolf turn, they get D6 plus any ML eg (5+4=9). Both opponents share the D6 pool dice, rounding up and add there own ML dice. ( Necrons = 3, GK get 3+7) with an extra rule stating no bullying one faction in the Psychic Phase. Even if he's in TDA you're better off charging him (an extra attack at WS4 is better than two at BS1), even if he has counter charge (because you at least get bonus attacks too). In power armour or equivalent its a no brainer. Now I have, 10 GK in TDA, 15 GK in PA, a Dreadnought and a Storm Raven. The HQ will have to wait until I get the codex.
