The tally of Morkai (wolf lord kills of note)

So I just want to hear of any great and epic duels or slaying of terrible beasts by the leaders of your great companies.

To kick things of in my first game ever with the new codex running Krom for my lord he entered single combat with Lysander son of Dorn, and while the imperial fist was able to land potentially devastating blows, the all father was watching the sons of Russ as Krom narrowly avoided the crushing weight of the hammer blows, he brought wyrmclaw around in a deadly arc burying the axe in his opponents neck and claiming his first kill in what I hope will be a grand saga.

In short two rounds of a challenge krom was able to lay the smack down on Lysander after the big lemon fluffed his first round and I made my invulns in the second causing a total of ten wounds over two rounds of combat I was able to get four past the storm shield.

So brothers, SONS OF RUSS join me in the recounting of sagas both new and old of glories won in service to the memory of Lemman Russ, FENRYS HJOLDA!!

I remember the time my thunderwolf lord (Olaf Markuson) was fighting against an army of traitorous death guard.the rune priests had forseen the future and told him that turning the heretics' pride against them would be the key to his victory (warlord table personnal #4, 1VP for every character slain.Chaos can't deny chalenges xD).as dark mechanicus dragons flews overhead and oblitarator abominations kept firing left and right, taking their tally on the valiant grey hunters of the company, olaf led his pack of mounted warriors in the middle of the frey, charging first round on an overextended plague marines path and claiming their sargeant's head.next he went on to kill one more plague sargeant, a cultist leader, one more plague sarge, then threw himself and the two remaining riders on the big mob of cultists protecting the their vile leader typhus.Olaf made sort work of yet another cultist leader, and without loosing momentum charged right through their ranks and challenged the enemy warlord.the heretic overlord tried to stop Olaf swinging his demonic scythe but olaf's trusty shield protected him once again, not letting any harm come to him in the whole battle.with a triumphant roar, olaf brought down his power fist on typhus's face and put one more victorius duel in his ever-growing saga.witnessing his fury the rest of the death guard army turned tail and run, returning to the warp and the day was won by the might of our great hero

My thunder wolf lord with his fellows were charged by a daemon prince, chaos lord on bike with "slayer sword" and bikers.

First round, my lord was challenged by the chaos lord who inflicted 3 instant death wounds.... I rolled the dice and... Yes! Passed all 3, then proceeded to smash the chaos lord biker with his hammer. The DP was stopped by TWC with shield who made 4 3++ rolls out of 6 while my TWC with fist smashed the biker unit. Next turn TWL issued a challenge that was accepted by the bikers champion instead of Demon prince but he couldn't escape his fate cause was punched to death by my TWC with fist.

Since that day my Lord has added a cognomen... "Strongshield".

Another day, chaos lord with axe of murder on juggie charged my GH with terminator lord thid time. Made another 4 out of 5 invulnerable saves and hammered another traitor lord. :)

Wolf Lord Silvar Stormblade has two distinct kills to his name. The first is Abaddon the Despoiler. In a late 4th Edition game Silvar charged Abaddon and his World Eaters bodyguard with a pack of Grey Hunters at his back. My Rune Priest used Storm Caller to summon a storm around Silvar and his pack and when they charged into combat Abaddon and his Terminators were reduced in initiative while the wolves struck as normal. The Grey Hunters cut down every single chaos Terminator while Silvar struck Abaddon with every one of his attacks and Abaddon was just unfortunate enough to fail four and was removed from the table. That charge turned the tide of the game, the arrival of Abaddon and his bodyguard from their Land Raider had already slaughtered a Long Fang and Grey Hunter pack and the sudden removal of that threat broke the back of the enemy army and I tabled him two turns later.

The second significant kill Silvar has achieved was Grand Master Sammael of the Dark Angels Ravenwing. After winning an Apocalypse game Silvar fought the Dark Angels player on our side in the traditional challenge and the enemy champion was Sammael. We rolled off and Sammael got the charge but only managed to inflict one wound on Silvar who struck back and took off two wounds from Sammael. In the following round Sammael whiffed while Silvar struck two more four more wounds and Sammael failed two of his invulnerable saves and was defeated.

Silvar has also downed a chaos Sorcerer Lord, a Leman Russ Command Tank, a Primaris Psyker and a Big Mek and Warboss though none of those kills match the above two.

the biggest game my thunder wolf lord ever had was vs our rival dark angels. turn one the dark angels went first and podded in a tactical squad to double tap my hunter squad on an objective, but left them selves open to a charge from lord and retinue completely wiping them out. turn two the ravenwing bikes called in some deepstriking death wing knights, again within charge range of my lord and retinue who were yet to lose a wound. the fighting was feirce, and because they had used their ability to raise cc attack strength to ten, two of the lords retinue fell. when the dust cleared the knights all lay dead from a flurry of rends and hammer blows. turn 3 the ravenwing bikers who were now retreating due to grey hunter/long fang combined fire were left again within charge range of lord and two remaining body guards, and again were wiped out. turn 4 the lord noticed the figure of belial in the distance so set out to lay there champion low. turn 5 saw another of the lords retinue fall to small arms fire, but they were now in range to get all close and personal. CHALLENGE!! i said, he accepted. belial swung his hammer but they either missed or bounced from the lords sheild, who then proceeds to smoosh belial into paste. the last of the wolf lords retinue was dragged from his mount leaving the lord alone surrounded by belials remaining men. it went turn 6 and even though he was laid low, 3 terminators were dragged with him. a total of 5 tactical marines, 2 deathwing knights, a ravenwing biker, 3 deathwing terminators and belial all felt the wrath of my thunderlord that day.

My Lord Engil Stormbrow has killed Ahriman, Calgar and finished an Avatar so far in 7th. I run him with frost claw and StormShield, though I might take a different weapon now I'm running him with terminators.

The best was Calgar, it depended on his terrible roles and my consecutive 6's. UltraFan (his name) cried. War is cruelty.

  • 2 weeks later...

I must report a tragedy brothers! While fighting to stem the tide of the tyranid onslaught Jarl Ymir Halfblood fell in combat against the combined might of the swarm lord and an accompanying hive tyrant, while valiantly protecting imperial citizens fleeing the planet...

The fool charged headlong into the beasts with only his cadre of three thundewolf riders, to far ahead of his packs to receive support in time. The only survivors rune priest Thradin of the glacier and his pack of grey hunters managed to survive the foul beasts onslaught, as the planet was resigned to its fate, the hive mind claimed yet another loyal planet of the imperium. After hearing this tale the great wolf has dispatched the death wolves to enact revenge upon the hive for this great loss.

Kjar the Red carved a bloody path through a noise marine army in this evening's battle. In single combat he killed a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh, Lucius the Eternal, a Noise Marine Champion and 12 Noise Marines. He was eventually dragged from the saddle of his Thunderwolf, Skaffgar but was dragged to safety by his loyal mount as his companions fought their way through the remainder of the enemy marines.

Kjar the Red

Runic Armor, Storm Shield, Thunderwolf Mount, Krakenbone Sword, Fellclaw's Teeth

Jarl Valdyr already has a reputation at my store with people calling him mildly dangerous in melee.

Lets take a look:

In the past few weeks my Jarl killed 2 Grey Knight Librarians, around 10 Paladins, 5 PAGK, a Dreadknight, Kor'sarro Khan and his Commans Squad, 3 Obliterators, 3 Centurions and around 10 Guardsmen.

He has also won duels against Mephiston, Abaddon and a White Scars Chapter Master (bike, fist, shield eternal, 2+ save).

And he has yet to die on the battle field.

Wargear: Krakenbone Sword, Stormshield, Runic Armour, Fellclaw's Teeth and a Thunderhoof Mount (yes, it is an actual horse)

Arjac Rockfist showing his skills and anger at his old life denied as an Iron Priest. He arrived via drop pod, and hurled Foehammer, a mighty throw struck a Dreadnought square in the chest instantly turning the ancient sole in to red paste. Angered by his brothers demise, Arac was chaged by an Ironclad Dreadnought, determined to seek revenge. Arjac cool as ever, weighed up his hammer, and with cold calculated calmness gifted to him by Geriwaited for the right time when he let loose his hammer again (overwatch) and struck another mighty blow, putting to an end another of the ancients.

one turn on the board and two dreadnoughts down. he then proceeded with his Wolf guard brothers to march up the enemies flank killing everything that got in his way. his tally for the game was

Dreadnought

Ironclad Dreadnought

five man devestator squad armed with missiles and lasconnons

Techmarine with thunderfire cannon

5 man combat squad tact marines and warlord (Lvl 2 librarian) (their razorback transport got hit turn 1 by my longfangs)

earning himself first blood, linebreaker and warlord. it was a 6th edition game. most of my army sat back and watched the murder making unfold.

Fighting a horde of Orks Wolf Guard Battle Leader Thorstar splits off from his Wolf Guard retinue while they head to take on a large pack of slugga boys after they disembark from Hrafn, personal Storm Wolf to Jarl Engir Krakendoom himself. He and his loyal fenrisian wolves charge towards a pack of Lootas instead, the two wolves being wounded by the panicked fire coming from their big guns (Though still alive they were recovered later).

Slamming into the Lootas his Wolf Claw in one hand tears them apart one by one, while the power fist in his other hand crackles with energy. Eventually the greenskins break under the furious assault, running for their lives off the field of battle. Using the momentum of his victory his sharp eyes, brimming with the fire of battle spots two Killa Kans out in the open. His Terminator armor slamming against the ground with each running step as he charges against them, wanting his powerfist to have its turn of glory as well.

The Killa Kans strike with unexpected speed, their huge claws and saws managing to land a blow against the mighty leader, yet the energy field surrounding the ancient suit of armor holds, deflecting the blow at the last second. Roaring out Thorstar slams the powerfist right into the cockpit of one of the Kans, crushing the grot inside to a pulp as the piece of junk falls over.

The other Kan standing its ground, swiping against Thorstar once landing another heavy hit square on the massive Terminator frame.... yet once again the energy surging from the armor manages to push the claw back.. saving Thorstar's life once more. Repaying the hit in kind, a mighty uppercut sends the Kan flying back into a pile of scrap with the force of the blow.. explosions surrounding the Battle Leader as he lets out a roar of triumph followed by a toothy grin to his cheering troops.
