Blood on the Mountain

Just finished reading this was a good read, wont give away the story but one interesting thing in the story was that the Rune Priest was able to psychicly imprint runes onto weapons to increase range and strength, in particular on Bolters and knives. This reminded me of the rune system for Dwarfs in Warhammer fantasy.

I was surprised that this did not make its way into the codex in some format, although I am not sure if this skill was specific to the Rune Priest in the story as I have not read or heard about this type of thing before. Anyone come across this before in the fluff?

Not in any of my reading it would be a cool bit of customization but tough to balance unless it was one rune per priest with some kind of limitation on what the runes could do. But it would be cool if say you put, rune of the crimson fang ( first thing to come to mind) on a wolf guard pack leaders chainsword and it have him rending so usually he is just bare bones, but if you roll a six the enchanted blade becomes as deadly as a kraken toothed blade for the strike.

Bit wordy but that's my rambling
