Hey, just realised that cataphräctii armour might be a good base to use for the Armour of Asvald Stormwrack. It does have a 4+ invulnerable save like Cataphractii, and is supposed to be very ancient.

When was terminator armour invented? I think it was developed by Mars during the Great Crusade? The fluff says the piece dates back to the Dark Age of Technology. Which is kinda contradictory I think?

Perhaps an even more bespoke suit might therefore make sense. Converted iron father perhaps?

Edit: I meant to reply to a different thread. But perhaps this post belongs in this thread anyway as I am talking about FW stuff :)

Terminator Armor is an adaptation of heavy engineering and environment suits used to work in the most extreme of environments like the inside of a plasma core. These suits existed long before the onset of the Great Crusade but were cumbersome and very bulky. During the latter years of the Great Crusade a number of types of Terminator Armor suits were adapted from these environment suits by different groups, both Mechanicus and Astartes. These included the iconic Indomitus armor, the more cumbersome but better protecting Cataphractii pattern, the sophisticated Tartaros Pattern and the Gorgon pattern.

It's entirely possible for a relic suit of Terminator Armor to date back, at least parts of it, to the Dark Age of Technology. If you want to use Cataphractii to represent the armor I'd suggest the Terminator Praetor, it's a great model.

Really recommend the new Adeptus Astartes book from FW. HAS the most up to date listing of vehiciles & rules that we are allowed. The only downside is it does not have the SW Contemptor in it. It is in Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2nd Ed. The other book of note is the Doom Of Mymera. As has been said, it is more of a fluff book because it only has 2 pages of actual rules for Bran Redmaw. From a fluff point, all these books are a great but a little pricey. From a rules point, the Adeptus book is the only one worth its price.

For actual models, I have the Sicarian Main Battle Tank, Contemptor Dread naught & Tempest Land Speeder. The Land Speeder is nice but the Contemptor & Sicarian really good though the Contemptor may pale a little as we can now field a dread with a storm shield & axe. My 2 cents anyways.
