Donkalleone
As i interpret the rules of Formations. Viodclaws are a Formation and so a seperate "Detachment".i guess you have find 2 elites. even if it is a lone 10point servitor^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295311-wolf-guard-void-claws/page/3/#findComment-3824277 Share on other sites
Rune Priest Jbickb
Im not the best at building my army lists yet so sorry if this is a daft question. But if you take voidclaws as a formation do they count as one of the elite choices within the CotGW detatchment? meaning you would only have to take and HQ and one more elite choice to make it legal? No, the void. Claws are for a intents and purposes their own force Org chart and are taken outside the other force Org charts in your army. Valerian
a bit of a necro, but what about deploying the void claws in a drop pod? Is that allowed? Off of the top of my head, I don't see why they couldn't use an empty Drop Pod from the Fast Attack slots of a separate Detachment. skeletoro
Yeah, I can't think of any reason why not either. But then that would mean they could take a caestus assault ram or storm eagle... Wraithwing
And it would negate there first turn deep strike rule. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295311-wolf-guard-void-claws/page/3/#findComment-3825050 Share on other sites
skeletoro
I don't see why it would. it's such a badly worded rule though. It says they must, which I guess technically does imply that they can (ought implies can). But can they, unconditionally? Only when unaccompanied and without a transport? The formation does not say anything about this. Spazmonkey
dont forget also the joy of WG. we can take more than 5. with deepstrike you can take up to 10 void claws. Also with the Shield brothers you can take 7 WG plus arjac... 3 boxes of Termies for example gives you you 7 with arjac and 8 left for your void claws. Also means you can run up to 3 models? with CML.... no reason not to have both in you list.... chuck in some vindicators, rune priests, a storm claw, and your troops... Dead killy... Spazmonkey
Yep, but I was meaning what yo u can fit in the land raider..... And most people wont want to have to buy 4 boxes just for Void claws and Shield brothers. but with three boxes you can do a nice 7-8 split. gives you the extra bodies over a 5 man unit. For me 5 void claws is not enough. But points wise I think 10 is to many. those 2-3 extra models can make a massive difference.
