Engir Krakendoom's Great Company

Hello fellow Wolves, I'm new here, recently I decided to take a long break from my Dark Angels force, and took my chance (with the release of new codex) to finally start the army I always wanted to have - Space Wolves.

Currently I'm in the middle of assembling and primming process, and as the thread name sugests - I will be going for Engir Krakendoom as my lord. There is no much to show now, but I wanted to greet everyone and I will post only 1 picture for now, the Wolf Lord Engir Krakendoom himself:

I just finished converting and assembling the stuff so here is a fast picture of the things to come - the arms will be in slightly different positions (shield arm will be higher) as they are just temporary assembled for the photo. As a Sea Wolf he is armed with a kind of harpoon to hunt down the monsters that lurk in the sea of stars msn-wink.gif I hope you like him as a whole, and the harpoon itself (blade is GS sculpt with some decorative bitz and TH handle) It will work as Black Death or Thunder Hammer itself (if the enemy will allow it).

For Russ and the Allfather!

I like it!

I have a Krakendoom army as well and I was havning similar ideas as to using a harpoon as a weapon. Works well with his lore and looks awesome!

Though I´m so tempted now to start using the Krakensword relic from the CotGW supplement in my lord... because Kraken.

I really like it though I have a few suggestions.

First I'd suggest adding some detail to the harpoon blade, as is it looks a little plain. Some runes or scrollwork would be nice. For example there are small scrollwork details on the wings of the new Stormfang/Stormwolf, if you can get access to one simply place a bit of GS on the wing over the detail, push it down good and wait for it to dry, then when you pull it up you will have the scrollwork detail in a nice GS mold. Then add a little ball of GS to the side of the blade and push the mold against it, when you withdraw the mold the detail will be added to the side of the blade. The same can be done with molded runes though the smaller size might make it a little difficult to get it to come out right.

Also I'd suggest swapping the Storm Shield for a Storm Bolter. That way you can use the Bite of Fenris or the relic from the Champions of Fenris AND you can use Engir as a "counts-as" Logan Grimnar and mount him on Stormrider. That way he is literally riding a longboat armed with a harpoon.

Yeah I'd recommend that or a powerfist in the shield hand. My own Engir uses a huge chain/frost axe in one hand, and a power fist in the other to "explain" the effect of the Axe Morkai.

That looks really nice!

I am about to start work on the conversion for him in my Great Company. Although I have been thinking of doing him with a long axe which counts as the fangsword of the ice wolf, and a storm shield.

Im planning on having him and his bodyguards arrive via stormwolf.

Looks awesome, great start to the force. I like the extensions on the thunderhammer, but I might slightly slim down the blade itself if it were me.

Engir Krakendoom's notion and Great Company is a great design to a force. Keep sharing in the future!

Best.

How do you like him? ;) Need to smooth the harpoon color transition abit and add snow on the base, otherwise he is done ;)

Vampyrer0me0 - how's your conversion going? Any updates? ;)

I finished up the work on his tower shield, with the exception of greenstuff for the gaps. I sadly havent had the money to buy any paints, so I dont have anything painted right now. I am actually working on trading classic models for the last of the things I need for the great company. Currently on the chopping block is my White Dwarf with Bugman and Gotrek Shield Bearers.
