While this batrep is a cool showing of how the GK centstar may evolve

Haha, it got what, 2 days before getting pounded into the dirt by the assassins dataslate?  Has to be one of the most short lived power builds in the history of the game. :p

Too bad for the GK players hoping for a easy victory but I for one is glad to never have to worry about invisibility again.

It's really not.

I bet you just wanted the Eldar treatment or loads of rules that allowed you to charge 3D6 inches, even after running just because you are Grey Knights, and that's it. God, Grey Knight Players have become the new Chaos players: bitching and whining about one bad thing in their codex, whilst ignoring everything good.

Read the forum please.

The Codex is bland, grey, lost synergy and has three good units in it.  DreadKnights, GKT and Draigo.  We lost far too much and gained nothing in return.  the Psilencer (outside of very niche scenarios) will still never be used.  And most of our units *went up in cost*.  Strikes and Purgation Squads have been rendered useless.

More in depth analysis can be found in existing threads.

This is *not* a good Codex, and is in no way an improvement on the old.

You just described the Grey Knights codex as "Grey" which in my opinion means it is very fluffy. They had to lose everything that they did as the codex is about the Grey Knights, not the Inquisition. Also, Grey Knights are only used in niche scenarios: Daemon incursions, therefore GK should suck against non-Daemon armies.

Thanks for the insight guy who joined 3 days ago.

You know nothing about me, please don't presume.

Yes, but I have viewed the topics for a long time and only recently got really annoyed that I needed to express my opinion. Also, did I say your name? No. So you don't know anything about me, I was talking about the community and you are all gits who are never happy with what they get

Knock it off right now. Aun, you are new here but it seem you and your brother Marduk like to troll a bit. That is fine, your choice. But it will get the both of you spaced. EVERYONE needs to knock off the personal attacks.

I think it was more presentation than actual opinion mate. Also, you will have a hard time convincing anyone the dex is more of a win than a loss. Lay out your reasons instead of comparing us to chaos players. We had multiple units and tactics stripped from our dex (inquisition, servo skulls, grand strategy, paladins and purifiers as troops.) We gained mediocre relics and some point decreases (with some increases to offset) but a lot of previously standard upgrades have been nerfed, requiring others that just raise the cost of the unit again

Let me suggest a few specific points. Except for fliers, the anti-air is 6ed. The termies in 6ed couldn't stand up to a C:SM assault termie squad and with the loss of the invul+ from the NFSwords, the gap has expanded. The weakness in heavy fire support in 6ed continues in 7ed. In the fluff, the GK are brought in to add add antidaeman strength, not engage in heavy combat. Perhaps this is what GW has in mind as the role of the GK army.

I don't buy that GKs don't need good heavy fire support because they only fight daemons. What about daemon engines? Do GKs not need to be able to hold their own against daemonically fused warmachines? And before someone says, "what about NDKs?" remember that one unit can't be our answer to everything. That kind of one dimensional list building is the exact problem with CSM.
