Help between the two

Hi all, I have been out of the game for a while not and have decided to get back in and start a new army. The two two i am interested in are Space Wolves and Grey Knights. I have not seen what has been added in the 6.5 Rules nor have i seen he codex for either army. For those of you who have this knowledge which wold you recommend? i would prefer an army that takes fewer models but that isn't a major concern. I also like the space wolf aesthetic to the Knights.

Well we're in the 7th edition of the rules now, but we can't really make that decision for you (but we'll try, because you're in the SW forum).

Both just got new books, both have nice models, decent rulesets. Pick whichever you like best. The differance between a strong book and a weak one won't make a differance unless you're playing very competitively.

If you want variety in your lists take Space Wolves.

Effective Grey Knights lists are probably going to revolve around librarians, terminators, and dreadknights now, much as Wolves were relying on Grey Hunters, Long Fangs and Rune Priests.

If you grab the Champions of Fenris ebook from Black Library you can get a handy detachment where you give up objective secured, but you can take up to 4 HQs and 8 Elites. All your Wolf Guard (including Battle Leaders and Thunder Wolves) gain +1WS, and re-rolls in challenges. That offers the potential to do a Terminator, Jump Pack, or Bike army as you can field Wolf Guard in any of those configurations.

You can do low model count in either army, and both have their strengths.  Ultimately, I'd recommend that you read up on the fluff for both, and then go with the one who's background material, themes, and style appeal to you the most.  You want to 'connect' with your army, more than anything else.  That'll help bring you long-term satisfaction that lasts beyond the waxing and waning of editions and power levels.
