Greetings brothers,

Im putting together a list and im planning on either 2 or 3 units of Grey Hunters in razorbacks and im wondering how you guys would load them.  Im thinking about 6 man squads with a special weapon and maybe something with the WGPL... maybe a claw because they are nasty.  What does everyone think.

I used to run basically an army of just them. I reckon keep them cheap and use them in the backfield, not for assaults. take 5 or 6 , give them a plasma gun or melta and take a lascannon or lasplas razorback. Get some other heftier and more intimidating armour to keep the big AT weapons away from them, vindicator works very well. Don't borther with thw 2pt close combat weapons either. If you want assault elements id take something else rather than trying to get such a small squad to take on too many roles. Thunderwolves, LRC or stormwolf full of claws. Anything you like really.

Yeah, assault elements don't belong on 5 man squads without terminator armor or a 12" movement speed (And a dedicated non-assault transport doesn't count). TL-Assault Cannon is probably the best turret option (6th and 7th heavily favor volume of shots for anti-tank, and its the only respectable anti-air in the codex that isn't a 230+ point flier), with lasplas coming in second- Remember, you can have 2 Lascannon long fangs for the price of one razorback with a twin-linked lascannon, and AV 11 vehicles are not exactly durable when staring down things like Wave serpents, Annihilation Barges (Necrons in general, really), or anything with autocannons.
