prozaczack
Hello, I love the old metal grey knights designed by Jes Goodwin and had a pretty sizable collection of said models with which to play Grey Knights. They were some of my favorite ever sculpts. A few years ago I experienced some money trouble and sold all my warhammer including the aforementioned grey knights. I want to get back into the hobby and with the new Grey Knights dex released yesterday I'm thinking of starting them again. unfortunately I am not keen on the plastic PAGK specifically their storm bolters, as magazines they use do not look right to me, I feel that box magazines like the ones found in the TDGK box would have looked better and in an ideal world ammo belts like the previous sculpt would have been used. I would like to know if any of the grey knight players have on this board have tried to make ammo belts or attach box mags to their PAKG or if they know of any online resources detailing such a conversion. I did find these online http://chapterhousestudios.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=85_113&product_id=254 and wondered if anyone has used them or seen them used with any success. Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295767-ammo-belts-on-plastic-grey-knights/ Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Did not know about those! I've currently left the slot empty on all my GK, as I dislike the ammo clips. I loved the old belt on my pewter GK, if these fit (the review has them used on GKT) on our PAGK, I might pick some of them up! Thank you! Iron Sapper
I've used the belts from Zinge Industries on my PAGT's. They are flexible and come in various sizes. temneb
Thats what happens when work gets in the way. Here is the link. http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=17 I imagine that a chunk of metal hanging off a plastics arm might unbalance it a tad. Brovius
I'm really liking the old-style belt feed, I may have to pick some up when I'm a little more hobby-motivated. prozaczack
Thanks for the replys everyone. @Bullet Magnet, Do you have any pics of your PAGK with the ammo belts for us to see? I think that the Zinge belts look better and would potentially be easier to work with but the Chapter house version has a bit that connects the storm bolter to the ammo belt just like the pewter grey knights of old. The chapter house version also says that the belts are resin, but calls it a pewter set in the same paragraph. I might get both and see which i prefer. I found this blog post detailing someones experience of the chapter house belts. http://www.thepaintingshopworld.com/2013/08/08/grey-knights-purifiers-with-chapterhouse-ammo-belt/ The pewter versions look a bit too restrictive and quite large, Zinge might be the way to go. What do you guys think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295767-ammo-belts-on-plastic-grey-knights/#findComment-3789440 Share on other sites
