Shadrach03
The title says it all. After reading through several supplements I think we have an idea as to what we can expect to see from a Grey Knight focused book and maybe have some fun discussing what we would like to see. I think it would be safe to assume that we would see no new units introduced. 1 or 2 special characters and if we're lucky a kit for them although that seems unlikely. New warlord traits. New relics. A new detatchement. A slew of new formations. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295871-potential-supplement-ideas/ Share on other sites
Shadrach03
Here is where they could release a kit for Mordrak and Thawn, maybe as a hybrid plastic kit. First to the Fray is a main book warlord trait so what about a warlord trait giving Mordrak and his unit Infiltrate instead and Banishment, Hammerhand and Purge Soul for powers with a teleport homer. Thawn could return as ml2 with Banishment, Hammerhand and Sanctuary. As for a formation this is my attempt to make strikes relevent. Nemesis Spearhead- 3 Strike Squads- Strike Squads gain the infiltrate special rule Runes of teleportation (working name)-as long as all squads are within 12 inches of each other the area between the squads allows deep striking units to arrive without scatter. HiveFleetKelari
I know it's not likely, but I'd love to see a supplement that introduces an HQ level Dreadknight or Dreadnought. Especially since our Dreadnoughts are already Psykers. Being able to take additional PMLs would be very cool. Shadrach03
I agree there especially since dreadnoughts got kicked in the teeth for us while they were made more interesting for space wolves. Where are you heavy psycannon dread... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295871-potential-supplement-ideas/#findComment-3791346 Share on other sites
BladeGaurd
I could see one for the hall of champions or the chambers of purity easily, otherwise the 2nd company might be neat. I suspect more Grey Knights in campaign supplements then an army supplement. Shadrach03
I think that since there's not much distinction between out brotherhoods that a hall of champions could cover all aspects from mordrak to the purifiers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295871-potential-supplement-ideas/#findComment-3791422 Share on other sites
Shadrach03
Rule across all formations. Psychic conduit: as long as a character is alive in the unit reroll 1's when attempting to manifest psychic powers from the sanctic discipline. This rule also applies to dreadnoughts. Formation Brothers of the Flame Garren Crowe 1 unit of purifiers that must be 10 strong Herald of titan: the unit re-rolls failed his in the first turn of combat Master of the Flame: while Crowe is alive the unit manifest cleansing flame on a roll of 3+ You cannot hide: enemy characters must accept challenges issues by Crowe Let me know what you think. thraxdown
I would want mordrak back. Give him first to the fray and give him his ghosts knights with the ghostly bodyguard rule back. Captain Coolpants
Or mandrak with a full detachment of ghost knights! Give them all some version of demonic instability And stealth or something Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295871-potential-supplement-ideas/#findComment-3791918 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Apart from Formation: Sell even more DreadKnights, Mordrak would seem to be the ideal candidate for a GK supplement. Mordrak would have the Warlord Trait First to the Fray. Ghost Knights would come back as a unit. Like the Legion of the Damned supplement. About the same size of rules needed. BRING BACK MORDRAK! Shadrach03
If Mordrak came in with a supplement it would likely have a whole new warlord trait table so no First to the Fray. That's why I figured infiltrate would be the next best, or even better, thing since then turn 1 deep strike could use his squads teleport homer. As for ghost knights would having them back be more important or having IC status for Mordrak? If he would become an IC would ghost knight be allowed to join the unit like fenrisian wolves in space wolves or would they just spawn as he took wounds. Does Mordrak deserve any wargear changes? A relic or master crafted piece of gear unique to him. Maybe he carries a locator beacon so that strike squads don't get lost? Shadrach03
Lol, so you want Mordrak to infiltrate 10 ghost knights and 10 terminators or paladins that he joined as and IC while carrying a locator beacon to bring down even more thunder turn 1 and 2? Shadrach03
Had an idea for a relic for Mordrak since he is one of the most missed pieces from the last book. Ghost Caller-Nemesis Daemon Hammer, master crafted, Wrath of the Fallen Wrath of the Fallen-Mordrak may expend a warp charge in the shooting phase to make the following attack. Range S AP Type - 3 2 Assault 1, template, strikedown, concussive The idea behind it is that Mordrak slams his hammer into the ground calling forth the ghosts of his fallen brothers to assail the enemy. Raktra
I want Mordrak back. I spent about £60 making he and his unit last year and they barely got a chance to strut about. But realistically, I can see some kind of Draigo + Paladins deal going on, like Champions of Fenris. With any luck giving all the Paladins "character" or Chosen Warriors from 30k so someone less valuable than the Apothecary can call a challenge for once.
