Need some help with DA in general

Its work as normal at GW towers then

Super friends in 7th can ride in anyone's transports but the dataslate formation says it can't so slate trumps book is the normal way of looking at it same as codex trumps book.

But of course GW can't get their act together to update the book same as they've left out our FAQ

Anyways with all of this stuff its a negotiation thing I don't expect someone to just say hey play me and then turn up with a multiple cad formations and dataslates with Lords of War its kind of not etiquette

Not to mention at the end of the day Unbound exists.  I think the initial knee jerk reaction to Unbound is someone taking X amount of Hive Tyrants, or 10 TH/SS Biker Captains.  But there's a practical use of Unbound lists.

Quite honestly I've seldom found Objective Secured coming in handy in about the 10 games so far.  The only time I've seen this beneficial to someone is when my BA friend Deepstruck his Assault Marines on top of a Skyfire Nexus objective that I had a multi-melta combat squad on.  As a result I couldn't fire at his Stormraven (which had also come in that turn) at my normal BS.  So, that said I've started to value troops less than I had.  I've had regular Terminators (from the elite slot) claiming objectives without issue.  If an objective secured unit comes into close combat (inevitable if they are contesting) with a non-objective secured unit, sure they may claim that objective, but now they're stuck in combat (with say terminators or bikes) and most likely unable to continue to do that in subsequent turns.

I've often lamented that the lack of Thunderfire Cannons and Stormtalons in our codex puts us at a disadvantage.  Ignores Cover templates are one of the strongest thing in this game, whoever has more can generally come out on top.  Luckily now we CAN take TFTs with unbound -- so bringing those without restriction can be an advantage.  Again, it's a subtle use of Unbound, but I think it's potentially worth it.

I like your thinking. I wouldn't mind podding in an Ironclad Dreadnought.
