Conn Eremon
They were probably considered the most successful because they found their primarch first and he got things rolling. I'm not so sure that can be as true now as it used to be, given that 3/5ths of them were united with their Legions within the first forty-fifty years. Horus was still the first, but his headstart doesn't seem like much anymore. Legatus
The Luna Wolves had the highest amount of "victories". The Ultramarines had the highest amount of "liberated worlds". Essentially, the LW were zooming around looking for enemies to stomp, while the Ultramarines were looking for human worlds that needed to be liberated. The "500 worlds" were just a little vanity project on the side. They are not the number of worlds liberated by the Ultramarines. That number would have been in the tens of thousands by the end of the great crusade. The "500 worlds" were apparently a coalition of worlds that had formed y mighty star emipire in the past, and were now simply reunited by Guilliman, if I recall the novels correctly. Though there may have been some worlds that petitioned to be newly accepted into that coalition.
