Thoqqu
What is considered bm by you? This question came to my mind when I was drafting a 1k list that had aegis line and deathstrike. Then I thought that it will make for an interesting game instead of causing my opponent to flip the table by round 2. But in general, what do you cringe at or try to avoid? WarriorFish
I'm assuming by "bm" you mean "bad mannered"? Generally speaking you know when you're building a list that might be a little unusual or hard to deal with in certain situations - for example squeezing nasty units and tricks into smaller point games were opponents might not be able to handle them. For us that's mostly a case of not bringing the heavier armour and artillery to smaller games, everything else is just troopers and light vehicles mostly which is nothing to cause upset. As long as it's legal play on I say, the only manners that count are how you behave. Though I should add this is in all things; so if your opponent tells you it was a tough battle he didn't much enjoy then the well mannered thing to do is to do something different next time Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295996-where-do-you-draw-the-line/#findComment-3794154 Share on other sites

Transgressor O'Malley
Outside competitive tournament play, the line is drawn at the point where the opponent is no longer having fun. This ought to be an ironclad law of wargaming. For mutual fun! Duty unto death! march10k
If you can find a website (like this one, or whineseer, or ATT, or whatnot) where the list you're contemplating is lauded as "the only right way to play codex X," (or other similar language suggesting that it's optimized for soul-crushing tournament play) then it's probably not a good thing. Leafblower and fatecrusher come to mind...current examples would include jetseers, multiple riptides, wraithknights plus 100-shot devilfish loaded with wraithguard, Daemons with more than about 12 warp charges (especially with fateweaver and grimiore), great unclean one plus three flying nurgle princes...there may be similarly un-fun IG builds, too? CoffeeGrunt
ATT is quite nice in that it's very casual, similar to here, really. I make my lists based on what I feel like fielding rather that whatever the new hotness is. librisrouge
I don't think IG has a BM list at the moment but this may vary from meta to meta. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295996-where-do-you-draw-the-line/#findComment-3795588 Share on other sites
