Should they bring BFG back?

I Love the game... Needs a full re-haul for some armies. There a few nice projects floating around. I'd love to use my Inquisition Black ship and GK ships again. When playing WH40k, we always have some techno/metal music going on. For BFG? Nothing but "pop" classical music and/or opera!!!

Yes for a BFG return. Even bigger Yes! For a Great Crusade and/or HH variant. Ship models should remain same scale but would not be adverse to FW pushing out larger scale versions solely for the modeller in me. Gonna dream might as well ask for all the cake as for half!

Yeah, I'd be interested in a new BFG. I think GW has really dropped the ball with the specialist games. There's absolutely no reason they couldn't tap a bigger market with things like BFG and Blood Bowl. I suspect their thinking is "we want people to play our core games because those require the biggest monetary investment, so let's axe the ones it's cheap to get into". Completely missing the fact that people who want to play WHFB and 40k would still do so, and they'd keep a lot of customers who are moving to cheaper games like Infinity and Warmachine specifically because they're cheap!

No, we must get bigger. I want a Phalanx model scaled to the size of normal BFG capital ships.

A true HH30K BFG game would require a hundred ships per side, many of which will be destroyed like a flame thrower ripping through gasoline-soaked tissue paper - at least according to fluff. Only the command ships will be nigh-invulnerable.

In other words... Yes. Yes, I would love to see BFG return.

I don't know how popular it would be with this crowd but having demoed FFG's new Star Wars Armada game, I can say that with very few changes it would work wonderfully as a BFG stand-in. Obviously the models would be preprinted like the star wars minis, but given that they already have the license for use with the 40k RPGs and Conquest, could it be possible that BFG is next?

I would endorse FFG making a BFG line. They are already handling the RPGs for the 40K universe, so it wouldn't be a stretch. The only question would be is if they would actually take it. With their own capital ship line being launched soon, it may be considered a conflict of interest, no matter how good it would be.

The success of Netrunner hasn't stopped Warhammer 40k: Conquest from being made and getting off to a good start.

Still, the question is there, and Lawyers LOVE those kinds of questions.

Fw teased that after the horus heresy is concluded and warhammer 30k's final rules are written they are considering restarting one of gw's old skirmish 40k games. They said that they would jump at the chance to do bfg or epic 40k.

Imo I'd love to get a chance to play epic 40k. I wanted to for a long time and I've never gotten too.

Also I hope that one day gw is finally let off its leash about lotr and we see it dropped. Ita bot profitable and its not attractive to new buyers which seem to ve the focus of gw's efforts.

Lotr's most profitable model is probably the goblin town terrain piece. And that's because it's a piece of bloody terrain. The hobbit Will be looked back on as a dismal failure of a game. It's predecessors were far more interesting and exciting. I remember reading my first few white dwarfs a guy at high school let me borrow on all the lotr bat reps. I remember how awesome the matches felt and it seemed like a game crammed full of awesome sauce (this would of been around the time of the return of the king - the two towers). I would kill people to be first in line of gw went back to that. They could even use the old models and rulebooks. I'd buy some silver helms and go man mode vs the uruk hai; Ez mode.

I'd like BFG to make a comeback, but I don't think I want to see it get the standard GW treatment of a bajillion new additions constantly shoe-horned in, and the rules re-released and updated for no reason.

Just put the rules back up for people to download, and stock the models for people to buy. That's all we need.

So that can be expected in 2030 or so then? tongue.png

IMO, they should release a box set like the last Space Hulk and the contract the fleets out to a third party company that pays royalties.

They can maintain the rules, the models can then be out - sourced, not GW, but hey.

Also, if you look at the games they have dropped over the years, the gaps have been taken by others, so they have lost all income, whereas out sourcing could have kept some money flowing, also would have kept people in the fluff!

It was a sin against humanity that GW stopped BFG in the first place.

You want a 40k campaign? You need BFG. Simple as that.

It is a crying shame for all the gamers who have not got access to the game. The ability to link your battles together is priceless.

Currently my Imperial fleet is trying to run the gauntlet of an Ork blockade to get an Imperial Knight House Hyperion lander down to the surface of Lamina V.

If you want real BFG, play Space Engineers, build your vessels and fleet and get a go at it in Multiplayer Vs others BFG fans...

That would be epic...

Have multiple versions. Absolutely terrible, those things turn slower than an asteroid.
