FAQ Questions for 7th

I initially thought (both a good and bad thing!) that the new GK Codex was a wonder, as it didn't require any FAQ questions! Unlike the seemingly 9 page long document I made (with the communities help!) before the last 'dex was even released.

But, as we all dig a little deeper, a few issues have arisen. If you guys can think of any more, I'll edit them in. smile.png

1: Rites of Teleportation

Can Rites of Teleportation (from a Nemesis Strikeforce Detachment) be used by units from the Strikeforce if they join, or are joined by units from a non Grey Knight Faction? Can a Grey Knight IC taken in a Strikeforce Detachment join a Faction: Space Marine unit in reserves, and still get to use Rites of Teleportation? Can a Grey Knight unit joined by a Faction: Space Marine IC do likewise? In addition, how does this interact with Transports? Can a GK unit from a Nemesis Strikeforce detachment, that is embarked in a Space Wolf Drop Pod use the Rites of Teleportation rule?

2: Aegis

Can the Aegis be used when attempting to Deny a Blessing (or other Psychic Power that doesn't target an enemy unit)? Denying Blessings uses the 'normal' process, the first step of which is to select the unit targeted by the Power. Which can't happen with a Blessing. Is this step ignored? Can the player attempting to Deny choose any unit they wish? Does the Reroll given by The Aegis count as a 'modifier' that can't be used for a Deny roll? Even though Rerolls are separate to Modifiers, and The Aegis isn't listed in the table of Modifers given for Deny the Witch.

3: Replacing Nemesis Falchions

Is it possible for a unit that can purchase from the Melee Weapons chart to replace their Nemesis Force Sword by purchasing two Nemesis Falchions, and then replace *one* of their Falchion by purchasing a different Nemesis Weapon (for instance a Nemesis Daemonhammer) from the same Melee Weapons chart? Ending with a single Nemesis Falchion and a Nemesis Daemonhammer.

They are very good questions but my taking on them is this:

1. Because RoT is specific to the Nemesis Strike Force and must be GK Faction then only GK can benefit from the special rules. A SM or IG or whatever is not a GK whether joined by a GKIC or by joining a GK unit.

2. Yes it can. The Aegis is used when making a Deny the Witch test and such tests are made regardless of target.

3. No. A model replaces it's melee weapon with Two Falchions and therefore no longer has a melee weapon per se it has already replaced it.

RoT

Can a Grey Knights faction unit that has a non-Grey Knight faction character in the same unit use Rites of Teleportation?

Aegis.

Can any unit with the Aegis rule reroll failed Deny The Witch rolls when denying blessing powers?

When Denying blessings can any character be used with their modifiers or is it a general 6+ roll?

I hope that was generalized and worded correctly for you. On the last part I already got an answer saying no you cant swap a falchion for a hammer. Expect that In an already being designed faq

Follow up queries;

"When are you removing Hull Points from the game?"

"Why are Paladins exactly the same price, when normal Terminators received a price reduction?"

"Why do Purgators exist? Is it an insider joke we the players just don't get?"

how about "Dont you realize that we already bought our dreadknights, so you wont get more actual sales till you make some OTHER unit good?"

I think that's the plan though. Last edition we all got maybe 1-2. But now, they're even more absurdly good, so you take 4 in every list (2x Nemesis Strikeforce).

Nope.   And i already bought my scions to get some deepstriking melta in my inquisitorial forces.    I dont have to buy anything for a couple years now.   Thanks GW!

Give them time. I have full confidence GW will find ways to make Scions even worse.

I dont have broken dreams from gaming anymore.   Ive watched my beloved D&D go advanced, lose the advanced, and morph into the worlds slowest offline game of WoW.   I played UO for 9 years.   I left magic for 40k because 40k is CHEAPER then magic.  Especially this edition for grey knights.   My wallet actually got up and faced nottingham in prayer this week when my bonus hit.

Yeah but you can get cheap cards online. 40k, even at its cheapest, is still more hassle because you need to paint+assemble as well. Magic just requires you to know how to make a deck, the cards require no assembly. I just wish Standard wasn't boring as hell and slow, and Modern got a decent update (fetch-lands in Khans is nice....but so much other work to go yet).

While I keep thinking my DK would be better off with Falchions, because Duel-wielding 1handers is best for Frost this tier ...

Frost DK since the first day of WotLK. biggrin.png

Disappointed by the lack of any change (and the backtrack on Cinderglacier) for WoD though. sad.png

(Edit: I was 'mastersimple' half way thorugh Cata, before the phrase had even been coined... Was hard to pursuade the official boards that 2xHB was better than 1x Obliterate...)

I am not sure I understand the 'Purity of Spirit' rule... it says you only suffer Perils of the warp on double 6's or more... but since 7th edition... double 6's is what makes a Perils anyway not double 1's anymore? what is the difference... am I reading something wrong? 2 or more double 6's always makes a Perils no matter what! what is the benefit of this rule?!
