Captain Coolpants
I am not sure I understand the 'Purity of Spirit' rule... it says you only suffer Perils of the warp on double 6's or more... but since 7th edition... double 6's is what makes a Perils anyway not double 1's anymore? what is the difference... am I reading something wrong? 2 or more double 6's always makes a Perils no matter what! what is the benefit of this rule?! any other army suffers perils from ANY doubles whilst casting a sanctic power. Grey knights only suffer the usual perils on 6s...so not really a buff, just a nerf to everyone else, but why would anyone else go for sanctic when they have biomancy/divination lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3800716 Share on other sites

Yes you are, that rule is specific to sanctic daemonology. Everyone else using that discipline suffers Perils on the roll of any double, whereas GKs only have to worry about double sixes, just like a regular discipline. Everon
IF you can get it off watch your enemy run in fear as it randomly scatters across the field and you ds behind them with a vanguard Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3800859 Share on other sites

Everon
As long as you dont roll doubles on the hit die then yes everyturn its a scattering d weapon. Anything it scatters over to final destination is hit by d str. Ive casted it one time and seen many others try. My opponent quit second turn it was out. Lr hit em with a dread long distance termies in the rear and all he could do is run away into force weapons or into a d weapon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3800885 Share on other sites
Captain Coolpants
You Need to throw like 6 plus dice at it though, to guarantee it casts :-P Otherwise you auto perils and it doesn't go off. It should be a large template in my opinion :-P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3800887 Share on other sites
Everon
It should be large and yes I got it off with 9 charges. 4 made it. Ive seen people try. That one fail was enough for them not too without gk. Guy through 7 dice. Took 3 perils and still failed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3800890 Share on other sites
Captain Coolpants
Seems to me that it's a power that you use when you're on your last wound and want to go out with a bang :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3801057 Share on other sites
Everon
If your not grey knights, yes. If you are gk, its the trick up your sleeve no one expects and if they do expect it coming that libby squad takes more shots across the board then the dread knight eating their tanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296088-faq-questions-for-7th/page/2/#findComment-3801248 Share on other sites
Happy-inquisitor
Is vortex worth it? Depends. Get into CC, on your turn GoI out of the combat and drop a Vortex on their perfectly bunched-up models. Its a bit more terrifying than just another couple of uses of Hammerhand. Expect to perils and be happy if the dice are kind and you do not. DarkProdigy
Daemonology has you perils on any double including sanctic powers. It's just further clarification on why GKs can manifest sanctic without that little drawback. Presumably now that it's a special rule maybe they'll give it to a model here and there they want to give sanctic too, Hector Rex comes to mind if they ever update him.
