Morticon
Hey guys. So, relevant rules: RB: Basic Generation "A Psyker’s entry will usually state how many psychic powers the Psyker has. Where this is not the case, the Psyker knows a number of psychic powers equal to his Mastery Level. Each of these powers will need to be generated, as described below." Additional Gen: A Psyker’s entry will usually state how many psychic powers the Psyker has. Where this is not the case, the Psyker knows a number of psychic powers equal to his Mastery Level. Each of these powers will need to be generated, as described below. Caveat: "Chaos Psychic Focus If a Psyker has a Mark of Chaos or is a Daemon of a particular Chaos God (see Codex: Chaos Space Marines or Codex: Chaos Daemons), that model automatically knows the primaris power of the discipline that corresponds to their patron deity, in addition to any other powers it knows." Does this mean that a level 3 Herald for example will get: A: Chaos Primaris + 3 Rolls B: Chaos Primaris + 2 Rolls Thanks! Dam13n
Actually C: 3 rolled powers + Chaos Focus or Psychic Focus (if applicable). Now for Chaos Marines they can have either Chaos Focus (if they have a Mark of Chaos) or Psychic Focus if they don't (and roll all their powers from the same discipline). Daemons always have access to Chaos Focus because they cannot be "undivided". Because they automatically know it in addition to their rolled powers, this means they are ineligible for Psychic Focus. (Although they can swap for a Primaris if they choose). Morticon
May be wrong, but think you're confusing Primaris with Focus? All focus powers are Primaris, but not all primaris powers are focus. (dont think it changes the answer, though!!). 3 rolls, yeh? Dam13n
I was on my phone (so kept it brief)... Expanding it, to "3 rolled powers plus the benefit of having Chaos Psychic Focus or Psychic Focus (if applicable)" Which would mean access to a Primaris power in addition to the 3 rolled powers. - - - - - If you chose, as a Daemon player, to take 3 Tzeentch Powers on a ML3 Daemon, then both Chaos Focus and Psychic Focus result in the psyker knowing the Tzeentch Primaris*. If you instead chose to take 3 Divination Powers on a ML3 Tzeentch Daemon, then the Psyker will still always know the Tzeentch Primaris*, as it will have it automatically, via Chaos Psychic Focus, and having any non-divination powers prevents you from having Psychic Focus (although you could still swap a Divination power for the Primaris (via substitution, page 23). If you chose, as a CSM player, to take 3 Malefic Powers on an Undivided ML3 Sorcerer, then the Psyker will gain Psychic Focus and have the Malefic Primaris*. If you instead chose to take 2 Biomancy and 1 Nurgle Power on a Nurgle ML3 Sorcerer, then the Psyker will gain Chaos Psychic Focus and have the Nurgle Primaris*. * In addition to their 3 rolled powers. - - - - - Anyway... 3 rolls, yes.
