Z00Z
hahaha, gun sights! I thought it looked cool :D For weathering effects I use pastel chalks which I scrape with an exacto into fine powder. Its really an in-expensive method, so for the rush effects I used red, brown, yellow, orange and for the smoke effect on the turbines and launcher the black chalk. You get really fine control using this method as you can simply brush it off if you dont like it. When you ready to set it, you use isopropynol, (rubbing alcohol) applied with a soft brush. Before I embark on my stormgrrr, I thought I'd experiment a little on the landspeeder, also getting the world war II plane dirt on body panels from flying inside combat areas. Sohail's baneblade was my inspiration :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3872943 Share on other sites
Dantay VI
Ah cool, will have to try it out when I get a chance, especially the black chalk. Maybe see if the medic has some alcohol I can swipe :D I'll take a look out for Sohail's baneblade too.. And they do make good sights. Dantay VI
Ah, very nice, smooth highlights and the face is very well done. I can't paint eyes, hate doing it, but yours look great.... Good job! PS, got the masks for resin chopping as per your advice!! Z00Z
excellent! not too comfy to use but you'll get used to it. Since having pneumonia and being hospitalised a few years back, I don't take any chances. Eyes are always a bugger to paint, lol, its the luck of the draw for me. Half my PA grey hunters have a slight 'retarted' look to them :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3881376 Share on other sites

FenrisWolf
Lol! Fear of eyes is why almost every model I have built so far has his helmet on! I'm the wrong one for Space Wolves in that regard! http://www.wobblymodelsyndrome.com/comic-337.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3883171 Share on other sites
NightHowler
I think every sane person will admit that eyes are difficult to paint well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3883184 Share on other sites
Z00Z
Just finished my skyclaws. Posing static SW legs can be an issue, so I tried different model angles to give them a sense of forward motion. http://i.imgur.com/6YHO0AF.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/P7DSpdJ.jpg?2 Pack markings and poses: http://i.imgur.com/op0WwWb.jpg?2 C&C welcome, was a fun build :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3889825 Share on other sites
Amarog
those skyclaws look great, i mean they all do obviously haha. i find with posing that if you cant get such a great positioning using the bits you have, basing parts can be handy to get the right angles etc. Like with one of my bikes i wanted it leaning in the direction he was looking, as if he was turning, so after looking through many bits of slate i collected when out up a mountain with my dogs (haha) i found a few pieces which look fairly flat, with slight bumps in the right place which when glued make the bike lean either way, your work is awesome mate! Nadir
The only thing I disslike is the flamer guy whonis trying to fall off his base. Maybe rotating him on the spot will do? And you could add a small dot of light on the end of the flamethrower:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296181-zoozs-wip-thread/page/3/#findComment-3890520 Share on other sites
