Hmm, I like this game.

How to refluff a culexus? Some sort of anti maleficarum specialist rune priest?

How about making him a blank? He has no presence in the warp, and that would naturally drive psykers mad...

Culexus's are Pariahs- That is, blanks* who go beyond not having a presence in the warp and actually surpress warpcraft close to them. That being said, the odds of a Pariah surviving life on Fenris is pretty much nil; the aura of revulsion would mean that the superstitous Fenrisian tribesman would be too disturbed by the Pariah's presence, and surviving to an age where they could distinguish themselves and be taken to the Fang is pretty much nil. Unless... hmm... Perhaps if a Rune Priest were out searching for an apprentice shortly before the Pariah's birth, and, recognizing what the baby was, took the child and perhaps his mother to the fang to be trained and eventually given the chance to become a Space Wolf. Still, remember, there's perhaps, one Blank on average on each heavily populated imperial planet, and most of those don't make it through childhood. Take the small fraction of those would exhibit an Omega-minus level of psychic surpression (the level exhibited by Culexus Assassins), and, well... You're kind of skirting into Sue-dom levels of rarity for a Marine with the abilities of a Culexus assassins.

*Technically, there's no set term. However, the RPGs have a clear set of designations that makes discussing levels of ability helpful without resorting to The Assignment Scale's slightly obtuse use of Greek letters.

whew, so glad to be back here on this forum.

question for you guys: have you brought any assassins (see Culexus) in your games thus far? I'm seriously considering bringing either a vindicare or a Culexus in my armies, as I anticipate that this edition is going to be psyker-heavy, and against certain lists/armies full of them (*cough* GK/Eldar), this definitely will help, I figure.

of course, the fact that psykers within 12" are only able to muster warp charge points on a roll of 6 doesn't hurt my considerations.

how about just stipulating, with hand waving, that for whatever reason this guy's pariah gene didn't fully manifest until after he'd become a wolf scout? Perhaps some event lead to the pariah gene manifesting. Perhaps the gene is recessive (if it was dominant you would expect it to die out as pariahs probably have trouble getting dates) and the wolf scout in question only has one allele, but the canis helix interacted with his genetics to cause the gene to manifest in his phenotype.

Mary sue? Yes. But tigurius is one of a kind and boy, does he get around.
