tjdudey
If I take 3 rhinos as dedicated transports. and 3 drop pods as fast attack choices, can I choose to put My grey hunters into the drop pods at deployment, but still have the Rhinos as a dedicated transport (Obj Sec). My thinking is drop the hunters where i need over turns 1 and 2, while the rhinos move around the board claiming tactical objectives as they need to? Also, I could put locator beacons on the Droppods and deep strike some termies safely. Stercus
You may find the rhinos are quite fragile if you want to hold those objectives. It's easier to strip hull points from a rhino than it is to kill a power armoured squad in cover. tjdudey
But with the tactical objectives you only need to hold them at the end of your turn to get the point, so at least early in the game you could focus your troops to whittle down enemy troops, while the rhinos claim the VPs? Frater Cornelius
Technically, possible. Practically, you are better off with backfield units or a minimal blood claw unit in the backfield and using dedicated troop drop pods to get forward ones. There is plenty of good choices in the FA slot to waste it on pods. The Rose Princes
Technically, if Drop Pods are taken as dedicated transports from a Troop unit, even though thy are immobiized if they are near objectives don't they count as Objective Secured? DanPesci
Technically, if Drop Pods are taken as dedicated transports from a Troop unit, even though thy are immobiized if they are near objectives don't they count as Objective Secured? as far as i know, although they can be a bit unreliable for landing directly on objectives, whats the range from objectives these days...2 inch? So a 3 inch scatter and they no longer score and cant do anything about it. But aye, far as im concerned, dedicated transports counting as objective secured should be seen as a bonus to take advantage of ingame....not something to write a list around. Why not take a small skyclaw unit to jump around backfield? WG Vrox
I was going to suggest that you take RazorBacks for the TLHB action, but they are no longer 5 more points they are 20.. wow..
