chaplainmikey
Hey all, I recently got my mits on 10 MK IV Marines (from a guy at my local club) decked out with the Night Lords shoulder pads and heads, and while I originally intended to just paint them as Death Guard ( I was unaware of the NL upgrades at the time), I've decided to take the plunge and start a small Night Lords force. So my question is this; what would be considered essential reading material for someone pretty much completely new to the Night Lords Legion? Also, any examples of painted Pre-Heresy Night Lords would be great too so I can get a feel for how their Marines wore things such as rank markings etc. Cheers! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296317-essential-reading-for-night-lords/ Share on other sites
Fire Golem
Horus Heresy: Massacre, and Prince of Crows is really it for pre Heresy. I know Aaron Dembski-Bowden's NL trilogy is meant to be really good, but they're set post heresy. Chandrian
Aaron Dembski-Bowden's Night Lords Omnibus. Got me hooked on Night Lords! lots of Lore, Legion Characteristics and insight on the NL. :P here ya go: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Night_Lords_(Novel_Series)#.VAm_pePXJaQ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296317-essential-reading-for-night-lords/#findComment-3800944 Share on other sites
Kizzdougs
Some WIP threads featuring HH Nigh Lords: Chickenleg Flint Armond BCK This list isn't exhaustive but is a good start. If you search the WIP forum you'll find many inspiring Night Lord projects, both post and pre Heresy. Good luck with your research :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296317-essential-reading-for-night-lords/#findComment-3800960 Share on other sites

Kol Saresk
Pre-Heresy reading Savage Weapons by A D-B Prince of Crows by A D-B Massacre by FW's Alan Bligh Other reading Lord of the Night by Simon Spurrier Night Lords Omnibus by A D-B would be the easiest thing to get. Kol Saresk
Unfortunately that shrine has been damaged. The loss was staggering as the priceless original edition of Lord of the Night has been lost to the warp. I am ashamed to admit this. On a side note, EYE-ROW-KNEE! Kol Saresk
No, I'd have to kill a certain pesky little Dark Angel and then present his sword and tabard as payment. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296317-essential-reading-for-night-lords/#findComment-3801662 Share on other sites
Hyaenidae
Despite A D-B's Night Lord series focusing in the 41st millenium, there are so many flashbacks that add a lot of flavor to the 30k realm that it is still worth the read. Especially the coming of the Scouring.... second best part of the whole series. Barring the Genesis Champion, of course.
