Demonhost + Bone Shard of Solor

I have this little issue ...

i was reading the rule of Bone Shard

"The bearer of the Bone Shard of Solor has a 3+ invulnerable save whilst within 12" of at
least one model with the Daemon special rule."

and i remember the demonhost.. from inquisition codex

sadly i found no reference as it is a daemon... but... somewhere i read a FAQ question refeering to "What is a daemon?.." the answer was everything with the name demon... blah blah....

I am wandering... with the next release of Inquisition codex... would demonhost become a daemon?

it would be very good....

Q: What counts as a Daemon? (p21)

A: Everything in the Chaos Daemons codex (except for Chaos

Spawn), Daemon Princes, Possessed Chaos Space Marines,

Obliterators, summoned greater Daemons, summoned lesser

Daemons, any vehicle with the daemonic possesion upgrade,

Daemonhosts, Mandrakes, Kheradruakh the Decapitator, the

Avatar.

You're right! The question is, does it only count as one per squad o.O, also does it even still count as a deamon as it's no longer in the FAQ.

Still a Daemon. While our FAQ is a Codex out of date, it's still the current FAQ on the BL Library. msn-wink.gif

Nice catch, hadn't considered sticking a GK IC with that relic in a unit of Daemonhosts!

I insist... no need to join the henchmen... just keep them at 12"

I would say that FAQ is out of date, seeing as it references an obsolete codex. A daemon is probably any unit with the daemon special rule.

If it's out of date, and no longer valid, why is it up on the BL site with the rest of the valid FAQs?

I guess you're defining valid as existing, even though all the page numbers for the ammendments and erratas no longer line up, and all but one question in the FAQ pertain to units no longer in the GK codex. And that question? it has to do with the nemesis force halberd, not the definition of a daemon. Not that it matters, because the description of the bone shard says that the bearer has a 3++ when within 12" of a model with the daemon USR, which the daemonhost does not have.

Avatar of khaine ally. Rangers manning comm station. 2 + cover save and a scary deamon for 3++. Take a soulglaive on bro champ libby with shard. If your lucky and can get sanctuary now you got a 10 man termy of 2+ 2++ with all re-rollable hits and wounds. Hammer time any one?

Sure its expensive but just the expression on your opponent's face as he fires everything at this kill squad to barely scratch it after ya obliterate his vanguard is worth it

There is nothing useful in that FAQ that codex doesn't supersede

Apart from what's a Daemon, and the Inquisitorial stuff that you might want to consider for Codex: Inquisition, as that's yet to get its own FAQ (like what the UPS effects).

I was thinking of some eldar allies with avatar and some serpents. Plenty of games in 6th end where my grey knights couldn't tell that the giant molten guy was actually a demon. Intelligence is not a requirement to join our team, apparently.

I just imagine the avatar sending a holo comm to a GK commander with his thumbs at his temples and index fingers up mocking at being all devil horns while pointing out the blood angels threatening eldar interests. They're a dying breed... gotta find any way to get those darned humans to fight each other, right?

AND now you even get a 3++, see... That avatar is a really nice fellow.

The definition of a daemon isn't even in that FAQ, it's from older one (5th ed one I think)
