Rogue
Hello. As the title, really. I have several of the original metal terminators (a solid lump of head, body and legs, with two separate arms and a slottabase), but not the right arms to put them all together properly - most of the original arm bits look expensive, so I was wondering if the newer stuff would fit in terms of scale and look. I know the newer models have larger bases, but I don't know if the models themselves have grown, or just have wider stances now. All thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Grand Master Belial
They have grown a bit in size when they went to plastic. I don't know how much the scale difference is and if it would be noticeable once painted. Aqui
Here is a comparison between an old metal Terminator (formerly belonging to a friend, but now awaiting stripping) and a new one: http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q499/Aquilanus/Oldversusnew_zpscf25024e.jpg Apologies for the poor photo, but hopefully it'll give you enough of an idea. The arms alone are larger on the plastic than the metal. There is more of a difference than I thought! Grotsmasha
The size mismatch is quite noticeable with plastic arms on metal terminators. appiah4
The second edition plastic Terminators' arms will also work. SW1
I have used metal SW TDA bodies and the new plastic arms to get a better mix of weapons. They look absolutely fine. Aspecti
I have 30+ old metal terminator torsos and I'm using plastic arms/weapons for them, they look fine imo. Here's a (poor)picture of a WIP metal terminator with a plastic assault cannon and power fist. http://koti.mbnet.fi/aspecti/kuvat/figut/terminator.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296461-do-new-plastic-terminator-bits-fit-old-metal-terminators/#findComment-3805771 Share on other sites
RastlinD
I don't have any pictures available but I have to say I agree new plastic arms do look good on the old metal models. I like them even more with them because it helps with some of the size issues when using the older metal models. In fact, I recently came across 15 old metal terminators and updated them with newer plastic arms and mixed them into my current squads with great results.
