tvih
http://www.tvih.net/stuff/wh40k/rhino-complete-front1.jpg This is the extent of me painting white on vehicles. It was such a pain that after that I stuck with all-black :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296523-advice-on-a-small-contingent/page/2/#findComment-3807358 Share on other sites
Jacinda
It's not THAT bad painting white. You have to be careful with the wash and just paint it where the shadows need to be. It is usually easier to base with an egg shell or bone white, sepia wash in the crevices and just a touch at each rivet. Then glaze up to a pure white on all the solid surfaces. The worst thing is white is not forgiving and it can be hard to cover up a mistake without it looking like a blob of paint on a coffee stain. Naminé
I personally don't find white difficult to paint, just time-consuming. That said, I use a layering method starting with light grey and working my way over it with thin (VERY THIN!) layers of white Infantry usually take me 2 detailed coats and another 2 for the large flat areas to look crisp. Vehicles take 4 detailed coats and 4 more for the big easy bits.
