GrunTeufel
This was my first time painting a drop pod. I enjoyed it immensely. It was quite fun doing the atmospheric reentry effects with my new airbrush. I have two more lying around unpainted. I am gonna have to work on that. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205305_zps6a025323.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205357_zps86c844bd.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205339_zps58180d52.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205408_zps68ef4720.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205219_zpseac0be76.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205235_zpsf90c4d86.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205204_zpsf99c8878.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-07205449_zpsbff65265.jpg My kitbash JP librarian. Mostly sanguinary guard parts with a grey knight torso backside and a space wolf power sword arm. Turned out better than I expected. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/WIP/2014-09-10022449_zps6e837c06.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/WIP/2014-09-10231617_zps4c120cab.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/WIP/2014-09-10231701_zpscfbe6a6d.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/WIP/2014-09-10231746_zps3a10e1ac.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/WIP/2014-09-10231726_zps0fe74702.jpg And a JP chaplain with a power fist. I lacked one. My LGS had one of the old metal ones. I also had a sternguard power fist laying around. Things happened on their own. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-10231926_zpsdca1bae2.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-09-10231909_zps1aea9b35.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296563-some-stuff-i-painted-recently-drop-pods-are-fun/ Share on other sites

Urauloth
That's a nice drop pod. Liking the reentry scorch marks, any tips for doing those? I have a drop pod or two coming up in the future and I've never done one before. Librarian kitbash is superb. Interesting use of that frost sword arm! If you have an airbrush that is. Otherwise it will be the toughest blending job you will ever do. There probably is a way to do it but I am not that talented with a dry brush. I painted a group of wolves for a friend recently so his battleforce box is still with me. Wolf sprue came in handy. Shaezus
That JP librarian looks superb, great job indeed. Have to admire anyone who enjoys painting drop pods, as I hated 'em! Maybe because I did 9 of them in a row, and I suppose building them was the real chore. Your re-entry effects are ace, I used a dry sponge (piece ripped out from my carry case) and it was passable but nowhere quite as good as this.
