Reede
Dunno if other people have noticed, but the Space Wolves FAQ is no longer listed on the site. While I wouldn't say this is necessarily a surprise given the fact that the codex now outranks all of the information that was in it, but I've been checking periodically and it was up within the past week, so it makes me wonder if they're getting ready to release our new Codex's FAQ sometime in the near future. spjaco
Only time will tell. Be patient, brother. The answers you seek are within the warp, hidden but there for the seeking. Ullr Direfang
I wouldn't be surprised if the SW FAQ is up soon, its not like there are 4 or so Fantasy armies waiting for their FAQs and it is has only been what, almost a year for those first FAQs.... Wolf Guard Dan
Give it 8 months or so and they'll remove ultragrit from that one WGPL. And Rage from the BC WGPL. Your post made me laugh and cry. What a mix of emotions. lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296593-space-wolves-faq-missing-in-the-black-library/#findComment-3807968 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
You're correct. The Swiftclaws and Skyclaws do specify that Rage applies only to the Claws. The Blood Claws don't have that provision. That said, we know what they meant via precedent. The Grey Hunters do specify that any model can take a close combat weapon in addition to their bolt pistol and bolter, and subsequently upgrade to a Wolf Guard which gives him the three weapons. All the other upgrades for Grey Hunters are limited to Grey Hunters only. I'd say the uber-grit Wolf Guard was intentional, although I'd have preferred for all Wolf Guard and Wolf Lords to have the option. Donkalleone
What does Uber-Grit mean? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296593-space-wolves-faq-missing-in-the-black-library/#findComment-3808682 Share on other sites
Leif Bearclaw
It's a term used to refer to a model carrying a bolt pistol, ccw and bolter. Under our 3rd edition codex, Grey Hunters had a rule called True Grit (later offered to more types of Marine). True Grit allowed a model to use a bolter as a pistol in combat, gaining +1A, however, they could not gain the additional attack for charging. Then the 5th edition codex dropped and gave Hunters a pistol as well, which was 100% better, letting them fire before charging (bolters bot being able to do this since 4th) and gain the the charging bonus attack. As this load out was superior to True Grit, it was dubbed Ultra (or uber, apparently) Grit as a shorthand.
