How do I upload photos?

Maybe I missed it, I found how to upload pics from a cell phone but this is my PC. Usually I just copy and paste. Excuse my PC skills.

If you're using ie11, don't. The IPB software and ie11 don't get along and you'll need to use another browser (I use chrome).

Thanks grotsmasha, I tried chrome but it's telling me that I need to paste it using Ctrl+ v, still won't work. Stinks too cause I wanted to post pics for the daemon pact.

Where are the images stored? The easiest thing to do is to create your own free gallery here at the B&C. Once you have a gallery, you can easily upload the images from your computer. Once images are in your gallery, it's simply a matter of copying the image's location/URL (terminology depends upon the browser you are using) and then include them in the image tags, like so:

[img=http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_548/gallery_26_548_27600.png]

This will result in:

And the plain URL for the image I've used above is below. If you don't use the image tags, the board software will turn the URL into a hyperlink.

And if your images aren't on the Internet, whether in your gallery here at the B&C or at some other image-sharing site such as Photobucket or Imageshack, you won't be able to post them.

Best way I've found is to go to "My Galllery" in the profile section; there's an "upload" button there. When doing it for the first time you have to create an album, then it's pretty straightforward to browse for and upload the image(s) you want to show.

Then when creating a post you want pictures in, you should see a button in the top bar (where you choose font options) that says "My Media". That lets you navigate straight to your gallery without having to worry about URLs and other esoterica. There is also a guide to this stuff here.
