eyeslikethunder
There are formations and detachments already for most of those in the various books but the bonuses are not worthwhile but why not have the rest as well Bran's rules are IA11 behind enemy lines for Grey hunters Grimnar/any great wolf can use Company of the Great wolf from 4chan Ragnar's Claws (Sanctus Reach hour of the Wolf)- Ragnar joins 2 Blood Claw Packs of at least 10, a pack of Skyclaws and a pack of Swiftclaws. This formation's not as great, as they give back that auto-charge rule the Blood Claws had and gives everyone within 12" of Ragnar Zealot. The Fierce-Eye's Finest (Stormclaw): - Krom Dragongaze along with the named Grey Hunter, Blood Claw and Wolf Guard terminators from the Stormclaw boxed set. All models get Furious assault, which makes the Wolf Guard and Blood Claws a little bit more vicious but the best rule is the "Pack Instincts" which allows you to get re-rolls to hit with the rest of the formation if one unit has already hit the target, or re-rolls to charge distances if one unit has already charged the victim. This is ideal if you are just taking the Wolves as an allied formation as it is nicely self contained and can be dedicated to completely obliterating one chosen unit at a time while the rest of your army does it's normal thing. FenrisWolf
I was thinking for some of them more than just a Formation, but a different Force Org chart. Something along the lines of CoF, but with 6 FA slots or 6 HS slots, rather than Elites. Wolf Guard Dan
I am getting info from a friend who attended and placed second (in the battling portion) at the Indy Open GT over the weekend. I asked him to take a look at any Wolf lists there. A SM-SW player got best overall. The list was close to what I expected, but his painting is what got him the win I believe. From what I heard he went 2-2 day 1 but had amazing stuff that was converted and painted to the extreme. He still had to score pretty high even with those 2 losses so I think his list has merit. This is the info I got from my friend. It is a rough estimate of what the guy used: Bikesander (what is that a tanking chapter master?) Khan TW Lord Thunderwolves 5 scouts grey hunters? in a pod Centurions Void shield generator Thunderfire cannons x2 And I have no idea what else. That's the email I got. If this guy is on the forums I hope he shares. This is more of a SM list with a SW flair. But my idea for a competitive list would be to supplement White Scars for hit and run and thunderfire cannon or centurions. They are the business. I had a pretty simil Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296657-our-most-competetive-tourney-build/page/2/#findComment-3810966 Share on other sites

SamaNagol
SW / Sentinels of Terra 3 Empty FA pods. 3 units of Centurions which go in the pods which come down turn 1. 2 5 man blood claw packs with a flamer to score with ObSec and come in after the first wave. 2 5 man scout squads in Land Speeder Storms with Heavy Flamers which also score with ObSec. Whatever else you want to throw in to back them up. Yah, I get what you're saying. This type of list was for a Grand Tournament so you go all out. I hope to find pictures of this guy's stuff. I heard it was pretty incredible and extremely well-done. Frater Cornelius
Well, I have different ways of going all-out. Preferably one I am having fun with. Wolf Guard Dan
Here is the dakka thread with pictures of the list I was talking about. The quality of the picture is poor and fuzzy but you can see some detail that is good. If you click the spoiler link on the first post he posted a bunch of pictures of the armies there. The combined SM and SW army is about halfway down. Just above the albino orks (Which I recommend taking a look at too). http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/615490.page#7210685 The TWC are either venoms or vypers converted. Cool concept if you don't like the wolves riding wolves thing.
