Grotsmasha
eBay has a plethora of choices. I recommend 2mm for structural stuff and 0.5mm - 0.8mm for top detailing as it's easier to get precise, clean cuts. Gurth
Evergreen sells plastic card with various patterns already embossed in it. You can also easily make it yourself by taking plain plastic card and scribing lines into it, though this is going to be more work. Ovidius Incertus
You should have no problem finding an Evergreen brand display at any hobby store in your area (Michaels or Hobby Lobby excepted). In fact, I've never not seen an Evergreen display in a store except for the aforementioned two. I've got two sheets of tiled floor, a smaller one about a quarter of an inch square and another about half an inch square. There's a Hobby Town in PGH, assuming you're not too far from there. They should sell Evergreen. If not there, you'll have ample stores in your area that do. I find looking at the sheets in person is much easier than looking at their patterns and scales online. YMMV.
