corai
So my heresy era pride of the legion IF army already had a couple of squads of cataphractii and a tartaros unit being built but I'd like to include some indomitus armour as well. I'm not a huge fan of any indomitus armour tbh but Extermination specifically mentions it being one of the patterns most employed by the IF so I thought it would be good to get in there so I can have an even mix of all the patterns. Then I realised I now have a set of excellent space hulk termis on the way and would have to pick a colour scheme for them. Can I get the space hulk termis to work as fists? If need to Denude them of: -aquilas -crux terminatus -blood angel icons -swap storm bolters for combi bolters I'm confident I can do all that but am worried people will look and be confused as they won't scream heresy era the same way tartaros and cataphractii do, despite the If fluff specifically mentioning them as being the appropriate pattern (I think there's even a pic of an indomitus termi with an iliastus assault cannon in visions of heresy) Does anyone have an opinion? Yay or may? Cheers Dan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296702-space-hulk-models-for-heresy-era-indomitus-armour/ Share on other sites
Slips
Go for it. The only reason we don't see much Indomitus is because of the Crux Terminatus (which we can't display unless your using a post Heresy force) and because Cataphractii and Tartaros is damn sexy in comparaison. ...Also they don't have the (imo) silly hunch back pose... Fire Golem
I'm using Indomitus for my Primus Medicae, he'll be based off the Tyberos model, so I don't see a problem with it. I will say, if you're not a huge fan of Indomitus armour you don't have to use it just because it says they use it a lot :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296702-space-hulk-models-for-heresy-era-indomitus-armour/#findComment-3808633 Share on other sites
Millicant
If you're wondering if you should use indomitus pattern TDA, that's up to you. If you're wondering if you should attempt to convert the Space Hulk terminators to another legion, the answer is NO. They are gorgeous miniatures, to be sure, but there is a LOT of Blood Angels specific iconography and to be frank, that would be a huge waste of such well sculpted minis. Just use regular 40k terminators if you want to. In case that wasn't clear - converting the space hulk terminators would be significantly more work than it's worth. Don't do it. (My opinion, anyways.) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296702-space-hulk-models-for-heresy-era-indomitus-armour/#findComment-3808650 Share on other sites
deathspectersgt7
Have fun denuding them you would be better off just getting legion specific TDA . Or sell them off to get those small Terminators. Hunchback? Atia
Yes, Indomitus Terminator Armour was used during the Great Crusade/Horus Heresy. !!! unless you have 2 boxes of Space Hulk, it would indeed be a huge waste of these nice Terminators. Just use Plastic Terminators with some Death Wing parts aswell as Imperial Fist/Black Templar ForgeWorld shoulder pads for your Fists =) http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-and-Accessories/BLACK_TEMPLARS_TERMINATOR_SHOULDER_PADS.html http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-and-Accessories/IMPERIAL_CRIMSON_FISTS_TERMINATOR_SHOULDER_PADS.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296702-space-hulk-models-for-heresy-era-indomitus-armour/#findComment-3812201 Share on other sites
shandwen
I must say, after (for the most part) cleaning the blood icons off of four or five termies, it isnt worth the effort of cleaning them for non-blood angels. GodEmperorOfMankind
I (respectfully) disagree with those posters above me, and so do these guys: http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg586/clarkus-maximus/IMG_20140922_170757_zpsnr6zvrft.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg586/clarkus-maximus/IMG_20140922_170802_zpsa988iih8.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg586/clarkus-maximus/IMG_20140922_170833_zpsssnbse6x.jpg I've converted mine for exactly the same reasons as you. I wanted them in an IF 30K army. IF are the only ones that can have Storm Shields and Assault Cannons in 30K, so makes perfect sense. Oh and the Crux Terminatus and storm bolters they still have? Honour badges that mark them loyal to the Emperor, and a non standard pattern of combi bolter. I could have changed the bolters over I guess, but hey. Before anyone cries heresy over defiling such fantastic and limited edition models, they're YOUR models, if you wanna convert them do it. Yes it's not a quick process, but if you're careful and patient it's not difficult. I converted mine because I wanted to use the models as much as possible, and I didn't want to start a 40k BA army. I can still happily use them in Space Hulk AND I get to use them in 30K AND 40K woo hoo!!!! End of the day, I'm happy with them. Finally, some shots of my Iron Warriors 30K termies, using the DV termies you can pick up on Ebay cheaply (If you decide to keep you Space Hulk ones standard) http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg586/clarkus-maximus/2013-08-06222221_zps0334ad23.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg586/clarkus-maximus/2013-07-28181736_zps7c05260f.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296702-space-hulk-models-for-heresy-era-indomitus-armour/#findComment-3816722 Share on other sites
Gab
I'm going to be using Indomitus Terminator Armour for my heresy IF army. I'll be modelling them as templar brethren, shields and hammers. I'll also be using templar torsos with the plastic terminator kit. Not sure about heads yet, I'm thinking either GK paladin or FW IF heads instead. Yes it's Indomitus Terminator Armour but I think it would have looked a little different in beginning, well you know 10k years ago. Of course I'll be removing all the 40k badges and markings.
