Gentlemanloser
Oh aye. It was just like the original Chaos Daemons Codex. Some stand out units (Daemon Princes of Nurgle, Flamers, Skulltaker, etc) that were head and shoulders above the rest (and the rest mostly not worth taking), there was little choice. You felt bad about taking the good units, but then couldn't take the alternative because they were so bad in comparison. Feeling bad about choices, I still do that but then I think back to the time Daemonhunters had to pay 46pts a terminator. When we only had a twin linked lascannon on a LR or a dreadnought as out only antitank. When we had no options, no toys. When we were playing a basic 3rd ed codex in a beefed up 5th ed world. I think back to those times where all wins were had fought and lucky. Now GW has given me an OP tool in the NDK to crush people with I'm going to dam well use it. As for feeling bad about using it? NO, nobody felt bad for me when I was playing the Daemonhunters codex and being rolled up like a carpet most weeks. And you did it without swearing like I would've. Bonus!
