plastic sisters?

Actual Sisters models.

But if the first piece of art is close to what the troops will look like, they'll be so close to actual sisters models they might as well be, so I think you should be less negative about it.

I'm just sick of it being constantly trotted out, when their previous line - which also had 'clean' concept art - primarily turned out to be atrociously proportioned cheesecake.

I know he is. My question stands: What does that solve? This isn't about making my army bigger, especially not illegally. This whole thread is about having a properly supported rang of models.

Creating something for your own personal use is not illegal.

I'd love it if Phil Kelly did our codex. He's a good codex writer! I like all the stuff he's done to be honest.

With how stuff works now it'll be done by a group of people, not any one person. And last I heard Phil was writing fluff only.

Well, luckily with FW doing a book on Prospero we're likely to see some Sisters Of Silence models if thats any consolation. Though, admittedly, I'd rather have a Proper GW Sororitas Release than having to buy MORE FW Resin-Crack (as if I didn't have enough already). To top it off, they'll be grouped up with the Thousand Sons, Space Wolves and Custodes :x

But, if they do get released as Plastic and FW doesn't take 10 years to get out the SoS, They would make for some nice HQ conversions.

Though if Raging Heroes gets their "Space Nuns" out before GW does their reboot of the Sororitas, well... my Sisters Army might happen soon than later...

I think that when they are ready, we will see kits that will more then likely mimick our metal ones. If the release of the plastic wrack look-a-likes coming out, I know GW can make sisters and a dex can be made hard bound just look at the GK. But we'll just have to wait and see, when it does tho, it will probably be a BOOOM! In your face release. For us old timers, my sisters army is already so big that any new models will have to be really nice in order to buy while you young 'uns will be more excited about building up a new army. Oh well, now we wait like always.

Where you live, maybe.

With a little greenstuffing to remove some of the impractical nudity, there are a couple of characters in the RHs line that could make for great Inquisitors or warbands, or female Guard. I didn't see anything that looked particularly Sororitas though... But, given that I play almost all my games in GW, I don't think they'd approve of another IP with a simple weapon swap :P

As a general rule in common law realms it's seldom 'illegal' but usually 'unlawful'. What's the diff you ask? The nature of the prosecution, criminal or civil. Generally criminal offenses carry statutory punitive measures that only somewhat care about the nature of the infraction whereas civil offenses are usually about providing what I'll refer to as an 'equitable remedy'. Essentially, the award is supposed to repair the damage to the plaintiff caused by the respondent. So, making a squad for personal use is perhaps only a few hundred dollars and hard to justify the time to collect, whereas going commercial raises the stakes to something that can't be overlooked.

Naturally there's much more to it than this, and letting people get away with making copies sets dangerous precedents which can justify acting even when the initial economics don't. It's the economics that lead to the urban legends about personal use being not offside.

Sometimes I remove 'impractical nudity' by painting body suits. Seldom an issue unless they've been so rank as to sculpt nipples that first need filing for proper censorship.

I never cared for the Raging Hormone models. They could work with an Infinity army where the manga aesthetics are more common I guess. However I really want to see what Citadel can do with modern techniques. I am just in awe over some of the new models. I may even pick up Fantasy Battles again because the new undead are so freakin' cool! Even the models that have been poorly received like Santa-wolf and the Taurox have an incredible amount of detail work that is very impressive.

I'd drop it at this post everyone. We have enough derailing on the forum as is.

Yea, in searching for places to buy sister models, I found some pretty sketchy stuff out there. And while the price is good, I can't seem to bring my self to risk using some of the sites because of stuff like this. Kind of a shame.

My comment was tongue in cheek.

However, truth is that while it may be illegal or unlawful, if you make them for personal use there's no "magical tracking chip" in the models or resin that somehow, magically, a SWAT team is going to break down your door over. That, and it's just so small scale that...no. Not gonna happen. But again, it was a joke.

Moving away from the legality arguements: I finally finished reading Wolf and Sister and the concept of Ferensian Sisters is pretty awesome. So awesome that if the models were available in plastic I'd probably start them today (even if it meant selling a kidney. Not one of mine mind you, but a kidney all the same). As such I think this is one of those ideas that will peter off and never actually be something I tackle now because the means to really do it don't exist.

Shame really.

You could always acquire some female heads and stick them on space wolf bodies.

Not quite what I had in mind considering the images in question:

They missed a prime opportunity to have one of them wearing a wolf pelt with the head over her own though.
