EDIT: I mean, it's technically a separate unit because it's bought as a fortification, not a upgrade for a unit. It would be like someone saying you can't target a Firestorm Redoubt. Morollan Posted September 16, 2014 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Stronghold Assault clarified that guns on battlements counted as emplaced weapons for the building and therefore could not be targetted separately. Guns placed elsewhere could be targetted. Not sure if this is still current in 7e. EDIT - Just checked and this has indeed been incorporated into the 7e rules under Gun Emplacement Upgrades. So, in the Battlefield Debris section under Gun Emplacement, the third paragraph that starts with "Gun emplacements can be shot at" is the rule you are looking for.
