depthcharge12
So, as many of you have seen my work in progress praetor/paladin/leader, I was wondering what else I should add. I believe that the overly blinged dark angels aren't until 40k, however, I can't feel but that my leader is a bit bare. http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/b372c78237a84d5b8df9c12757d8c9d4_zpsc895a720.jpg Now I was thinking of adding this space wolf cloak (yes I know the irony isn't lost on me :P) as a sort of trophy or symbol of stature within his legion. I was thinking of painting it white or so to resemble a killed warp beast of Caliban. http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/4da632d53ba21fb7297d18a870a6f05d_zpsb10af224.jpg Would this be fitting? What are some other ornaments I should add to him? I was thinking of a robe but it might be too late to model it on him with green stuff and then paint over. Should I try to get the mkIII praetor and try to model it on him? Xenith
That SW cloak is designed for a terminator, and looks huge on them. Could work with some greenstuffing. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Space-Wolves-Wolf-Guard-Terminators Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296803-modeling-dark-angels-leaders-need-advice/#findComment-3810816 Share on other sites
Allart01
I think what your model is missing is, indeed, a cloak. A warp-beast trophy would be awesome, but a "normal" one would do aswell :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296803-modeling-dark-angels-leaders-need-advice/#findComment-3810830 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
Honestly, it would probably be easier to make your own pelt cloak than trying to chop up that one to fit and have it look decent. TheForgottenAngel
Anvil industries makes a nice cloak. You can purchase them in a wolf style or normal. Look at my gallery at the terminators cloaks. Fire Golem
There's the High Elves Lion Chariot from fantasy, I think they have lion cloaks? Reyner
Definitely need a cloak or a tabard - some form of cloth! The Anvil Industries ones look pretty good. One-eye
Great mini. I think a small shield with heraldry at the front of the right shoulderpad would add a strong DA feeling (a lot of DA art of HH is showing heraldry with checkers / stripes / etc) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296803-modeling-dark-angels-leaders-need-advice/#findComment-3811298 Share on other sites
Kizzdougs
Just to follow on from One-eye's suggestions, maybe you could add that something extra via the paint job. The Ist Legion loves its heraldry (checks, swords, wings etc.). Knee and shoulder pads are perfect areas for heraldry, maybe even add a little Calidan green somewhere. Ordo Machinum
... and it's a good choice because the Lion's Seneschal Corswain had the pelt of a Caliban beastie draped over his shoulders.
