Son of Carnelian
This is the first example of the War Hounds that I have ever seen actually painted. I'm already looking for more! Fantastic work with that muted blue.
kalbik
Thanks. Been working on a War hounds pride of the legion list but when the Cerberus arrived it jumped ahead of the army. Sadly must of the army is incomplete.
Nomus Sardauk
Amazing work, simply brilliant. It's a refreshing sight too, you see literally legions (da-dum tish) of World Eaters threads but I'm pretty sure this is the first War Hounds thread I've ever seen, So I look forward to seeing any more you might have in the works once they're ready. :)
kalbik
Thanks. I love the world eaters colors and can see why they are popular but the embarrassing truth is the color swap is a lot easier to paint. Now it’s primary blue base over the legs and torso while the arms are white. That saves a good 20min of white layering for each of the 35 cataphractii terminators in the list. HA! http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp128/Oftenwrong/warhammer/world%20eaters/whoop.jpg
LongGone
That blue, I likes it a lots. How is it done, good sir? I had thought to use a darker blue in my own XIIth Legion force, but I like the look of yours quite a bit. I may even decide to do the War Hounds scheme vice the Eaters of Worlds. I mixed that blue and can’t remember wants in it. =( The shading is done by priming black than air brushing white over the highlights. Then the blue in over that. I’m too lazy to apply washes or hard highlights.

PassionFruit Power
that blue is amazing, How did you paint it?
kalbik
I do pre-shading with an air brush. Prime black, go over the highlighted areas with white, then the blue over the top. Just spray less blue over the shadowy spots. Here’s the few I got done over the last few weeks. http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp128/Oftenwrong/next5.jpg

geektom
Looking really excellent! As Knight of the Raven pointed out, you have done a great job of foreshadowing their eventual transformation to the a World Eaters without bring too obvious about it. Top notch stuff.
