Everon
I'm not sure if this is the right area for this or not but was curious on y'alls thoughts on a list. At a local gw store I'm in a league and some how made it to play offs and was curious if you were in my position what you run. Given I have no models for allies, I need to come up with a 3k point list. All other people's lists are unknown but I do know that there will be 2 sisterhoods, one with stormlord, another with eldar allies, knight errant and culexus. An IG player mech list, DA with sm allies rolling with forgeworld land raiders and typhus, tyranid, and 2 necron players both rolling with ctan transcendants. Im thinking of a list of: -GM with a pyscannon and soul glaive, melta bomb -Draigo -10 termies, 2x psycannons, 2x hammers 8 halbreds -2 purifier 5 mans, kof with hallys -interceptors with 2 incenerators -raven -landraider phobos - dreadknight with pt, hp, hi - dreadknight with pt, hi, gp -2 razors with tllc -aegis with coms -Gerantus Models i do have are Lr phobos Lr redeemer 20 models for ss purifiers 10 interceptors 20 termies 2 rb tllc 3 dreads, rifledread, tllc, vortimer 2 dreadknights Stormraven Techmarine Crowe Draigo Bro cap/GM Libby Eversor Vindicaire Callidus 3 ik, 2 errant 1 paladin format. Coteaz Inquisitor 4 crusaders Mystic 2 dca What are your thoughts and suggestions. All feedback appreciated. Purifying Tempest
I see enough NDKs for 2 NSF detachments. I would start there. Add in Draigo for giggles. Both of your troops should probably have land raider rides to absorb some points. Maybe use the third land raider for an inquisition detachment, though a couple more DCA would have looked nice. Toss in your imperial knights and you should be filling up on points. Everon
Appreciate the advice. It is only 2 NDKs so could try for a 2nd detach. Only 2 lr though. Im thinkongfor ig oopponent just tp and pyscannon his tanks in the rear. Nid and sisterhood im not too worried about. Biggest worry is the ctans. Only faced one in the league and that thing alone nearly tabled me. Any advice on how to ruin his day? Brom MKIV
I like your list. I haven't done the math but it looks to be around 3k. Anyway heres what I got to add: I would replace the GM with a ml3 libby + ndh and liber daemonica, and an OM inquisitor- ml 1, tda, psycan, 2-3 servo skulls (use the GM model counts as if needed). For around 51 pts more you still get the psycan, +2 WC, full access to sanctic and a roll on divination (or more if needed via libby), plus 2 ndh's and the skulls. Just as importantly you have a legitimate shot at invisibility and this also opens up henchmen for melta. The henchmen I would keep cheap and focused.. say a couple units of- ml 1 psyker, 3 acolytes- meltaguns- 52 pts.. maybe even x 2. These could ride in the the land raider and/or raven depending on where you choose to employ those purifiers each game. Super cheap WC and almightly melta even if its only bs 3. This brings me to.. The phobos. If your gonna take the phobos anyway make it a proteus with augury web and possibly ceramite instead. Roughly the same cost, same weaponry, plus offensive and defensive reserve control not to mention melta resistant. This would also allow you to drop the ADL + comms to afford some of the changes above. I really like gerantus here and even an allied IK CAD too in theory, but theres no way your gonna find pts without leaving everything else skeletal I think, so I'd say those are out. You do want at least one knight/gerantus as a catch all though and he doubles as a way to deal with pesky culexus and the Ctan too. On the Ctan, without allies for grav those things are gonna be a problem. The best solution other than gerantus I can think of is to tarpit with an invisible unit. Probably interceptors simply because they're relatively fast and cheap. Relatively. Its problematic enough you almost need a second libby to up your chances of getting the power at least once. Everon
I see. Indeed, some good thoughts there. Thanks much. Only thing on Proteus is in the IA vol 2 fine print says only sw, da, and plain ole sm can take em. Funny how the lore says gk are the the most advanced and elite army in the imperium, yet they cant have meltas, lascannons or gravitons, fell blades, spartans, predators etc etc. Ah well ill have to make due Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296884-list-opinions/#findComment-3812901 Share on other sites
