Marshal Loss Posted September 19, 2014 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Got a tournament coming up and with little experience facing other Heresy armies, I'm quite worried that I'm just going to get stomped. Any tips/comments on my lists? 1500 Reveal hidden contents HQ Praetor Paragon Blade, Halo, Digital Lasers Elites 2x Apothecaries Troops Tactical Squad 15x Marines, Power Weapon, Vexilla Tactical Squad 15x Marines, Power Weapon, Vexilla & Vox Fast Attack Legion Javelin Attack Speeder Squadron 3x Speeders, all with 2x Hunter Killer Missiles & Multi meltas Storm Eagle Gunship Multi melta & Two twin-linked lascannons Heavy Support Sicaran Lascannon sponsons 2000 Reveal hidden contents HQ Praetor Paragon Blade, Halo, Digital Lasers Elites 1x Apothecaries Contemptor Mortis Kheres Pattern Autocannons Troops Tactical Squad 15x Marines, Power Weapon, Vexilla Tactical Squad 20x Marines, Power Weapon, Vexilla & Vox, Extra CCW's Fast Attack Legion Javelin Attack Speeder Squadron 3x Speeders, all with 2x Hunter Killer Missiles & Multi meltas Storm Eagle Gunship Multi melta & Two twin-linked lascannons Heavy Support Sicaran Battle Tank Lascannon sponsons Spartan Assault Tank Flare Shield, Armoured Ceramite Any advice would be much appreciated! I care a lot about my theme, so it isn't win at all costs...just not lose terribly to other lists. I feel like I'll struggle with Terminators & nasty close combat themed armies. I have many other miniatures that I could add into the army if I needed to rotate something. I have plenty of HQ's - Master of Signal, Terminator armoured chaps etc, as well as Justaerin, a substantial Reaver squad with Jump Packs, an extra Storm Eagle & some Dreadclaws. I'm not such a fan of praetors, but if there's a RoW you like or just like the idea of a big boss, it's all good. Especially fond of your hunter-killer missiles on the jet bikes - a great points value there and quite fluffy. If I was going to make a change, it might be their multi-melta load out; I prefer something a little more stand off-ish, but that's just me. Again - nothing jumps out as particularly crazy or anything so I'm thinking you are going to have a great time and solid showing! Good luck man! I was thinking about swapping the Praetor out for a Master of Signal in the 1500, as without the Spartan I probably shouldn't be seeking close combat too much. AekoldHelbrass Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Throwing in couple of suggestions... - you can take power fist instead of digital laser for almost the same price you have both +1A and AP2 when needed. - from my experience artificer armour is worth taking for sergeants, and either power axe of power fist. - if you're facing other marines and would like to fight them in melee, I would take power swords for apothecaries. - I usually find additional ccw too expensive, so I take either only bolters or only ccw.
