MustangTC
With the new Iron Thunderpriest I'm going to make some of these guys. How have people approached this? Alternative models or conversions? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296963-how-do-you-make-cyberwolves/ Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
I take regular wolves and armour them. Armoured War Wolves. I dislike mutilating my pups with metal augmentations. The Rose Princes
i keep all of my regular wolves without augments, and save them up for making cyberwolves with 2 robotic legs each. mind you, now that i'm going from 60 fenrisian and 12 cyberwolves to 8 fenrisian (4 hq retinue) and 32 cyberwolves (8 iron priest retinue), i think i'm just gonna start painting existing legs chrome. MustangTC
I'm thinking maybe ordering some small watch gears and slotting them into drilled holes on the sides of the wolves. I'm worried they will look TOO steam-punk though and not grim-dark enough. Jochteas
I've honestly debated maybe buying some TWC units and just using the cyber version of them because at the end of the day the difference between 3 of those wolves and just buying 3 cyber wolves is like 1 or 2 dollars, and you also get like 3 free marines + bits. That said they would require some work because they are obviously casted to be mounted units so I mean that might bug some people, maybe try to find a way to make that a bit more appealing.@Immerstrum do you have any pictures? I suddenly love this idea and I agree with you 100% Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/296963-how-do-you-make-cyberwolves/#findComment-3815186 Share on other sites
Wolf Guard Dan
See if you can find any necron bits. I use chaos warhounds and file down their chaosy stuff and add greenstuff fur. I found some lychguard tails for them because I didn't like my green stuff tails. Chaos warhounds are cheaper and look meaner IMO. JCarter
Buy a skeleton cavalry box (Warhammer Fantasy) and use pieces of skeleton from the horses to make cyber parts. With appropriate trimming, you can even make holes in the hide of the wolves so that parts of ribs and other things can be seen. MustangTC
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, it's an interesting conversion opportunity. I've found these great watch cogs on eBay that I'm going to play around with. Wispy
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu84/Matrias/IMG_2567.jpg Ingredients: 1 box of fenrisian wolves, 2 finecast cyber wolves. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Wolves-Cyberwolf http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Wolves-Fenrisian-Wolf-Pack One cyberwolf model I modeled as is. The other I cut in half, behind the hind legs, and combined it with fenrisian wolf plastics to create two separate cyber wolves. I plunked the second cyberwolf's head on a third fenrisian wolf, which had robo components. The end result was 3 wolves that had some robot parts There's enough plastic wolves left over to equip your Wolf Lord.
