Space Wolves by Tempes Blood Claw 22/4

Tempes

Recommended Posts

 This is mi recipe :

 With airbrush

1st. Vallejo black primer

2nd. I'm adding The Fang to primer. Do several layers each with more The Fang. Until I finish with The fang

3rd. For the lights to the fang I add russ gray

4th. For the last light I put a little white

This is the first occasion that I get to use my built airbrush paint method, so as I have little practical do not usually get what I want, to airbrush only. So when I have finished miniatures on what concerns the airbrush, with the same colors and brush, use a glaze to correct volumes and make thumbnails are more homogeneous among themselves

These are just so crazy good- maybe my favorite Space Wolves of all time.

The poses, the feeling of action and movement, your incredible weathering/chipping... Fantastic.

You are doing some incredibly fine airbrush work- may I ask what equipment you are using?

Any chance we could see a step-by-step of the process next time? I am particularly interested in how you are doing it on such small surfaces, such as the shoulder pads and the yellow edges of the jump packs.

I bow to you, sir!

Token, I use Spanish as the language of my blog, mostly because it is much faster for me to work in my native language and let google take care of translations. If I dominate the English better if I'd do my own translations but I only use it when I write in this forum practically. And many perceive it pretty XD

Appiah5 Yesterday I have taken a whole lot of photos, I have to reduce them  to hang

Geektom, I'm working on an entry for my blog, on the subject of airbrushing, the truth about 3 months ago only used the airbrush for tanks, and bases. In the end, all are little tricks you learn to use. Most important to use the airbrush is masked. I use Maskol, film and masking tape. The most important for me, trick is to use a brush moistened with airbrush thinner to remove the stains you can make as you paint, this enables you to when you fail to give a layer fix without having to start from scratch.

Buypainted has very good tutorials on using the airbrush on miniatures

My airbrush is a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity 1.5mm and I would like to buy a Plus Iwata High performanced to compare.

BrotherCaptainArkham being successfully know that feeling, I have been improving in this world seeing the works of Banshee, Volomir, Iguazzu .... But over time is greatly improved and risking. Some of these miniatures now in its version 7.0

Thanks for the comment dantay xv. I'm also happy to be back.
What is ETL?

I have a tutorial on my blog with different methods to paint faces (the photo of the heads  are from that tutorial). The problem is that this in Spanish.

For more realism in the faces,  I try not to use the same recipe colors in all..

You can start with pink flesh tones or ocher-orange, brown cork .... It covers the entire face well.
then I usually use a mixture of red cavalry and an earth tone or brown burnt. I applied as a glaze.
from here what I do is reapply the base color and then illuminate it with pale skin normally.

Always lit looking contrast, eyebrows to the top edge, on the cheeks to the eye and can bring light forward or ears, examples are seen in the photo.

I several layers, each time with more pale skin, until I like the tone. Last but not least, your you must apply a glaze.

1 red forehead, nose and cheekbone and 1 orange for the rest. For those who are skinheads or shades of beards, caspian blue mixed with black.

Some examples :

     base                               Shadows                                             lights                       Glazes

cork brown                        burnt brown+cavalry red                    pale skin                blody red / scrofulous brown

earth                                       "    "                       "                         "      "                    "         "   /   fire orange

pink flesh                              earth + gory red                              ligth skin                calvalry red/ "          "

dwarf flesh                        burnt brown + gory red                       pale skin                gory red /  ocrhe-orange

you can try different combinations of these colors until you find the one you like

Hope this can help you.

Thank you for the examples. I know Bladewolf would be interested, as he wants to do diverse skin tones in his Imperial Fist army.

ETL is the annual painting competition on the Bolter & Chainsword site.

It runs from Maty to August, the idea is to paint as many miniatures as you can to as high a standard as you can.

Each forum competes against the others, so Space Wolves will be against Dark Angels, Chaos etc... Each person vows a points total of models and must complete their vow within the time limit. Last year the vows were limited to 3000 points maximum and a maximum of 5 vows per person.

The forum with the highest points total of completed vows after being penalised for the incomplete vows is declared the winner.

Within each forum there are also  awards to be gained. For example the person who completes the most points for their forum is awarded the title of forum champion. The person who paints the best model, will be awarded the title of Master Artificer etc.

Space Wolves have done quite poorly over the past few competitions, but we enjoy it because it is a fun time to get together, discuss models and learn new techniques to help us improve our skills. At the end of the day the points do not matter so much as enjoying what we are doing.

It would be an honour if you would join us this year in the Space Wolves forum :)

I have determined that the claws have a more Viking aspect (are the youngest). So I will try to put them axes and shields.
   My options for shields are:

For now I saw these axes, but I see a little simple, so I'm still looking

Thank you guys.

I looked at the axes of the dwarves, both age of Sigmar as warhammer fantasy but I do not like. On the other hand also see those of the Marauders, I rather like .. but I wanted something more Viking.

The axes I put in the picture above I like a lot but would require a lot of work in putty.

And now that's what I have. I'm painting ships and tanks to avoid these questiones. I am closer to the second unit grey hunters than blood claws ^^ u

What dwarfen axes were you looking at?

I use these as regular axes

The standard dwarf axes are much plainer
