Question of scale

I currently have an idea for an extremely insane project.  I want to build a private zoo to scale for my inquisition character(He from ordos xeno) and warband.  Trouble is, I can't figure out the scale for 28mm.  Can someone explain the conversion value.  For example in scale how big would a 10 foot x ten foot table be(my planned size so far)?

28mm is supposed to be from the ground to the eye level of a 6' human standing up straight. Eye level being relatively consistent compared with unpredictably tall hats and helmets. So a little under 2.5" to the millimetre.

10' would be about 50mm.

GW minis don't really fit into a 1:1 conversion scheme because of the heroic scale. Depending on what you need you'll want something between the scales of 1:48 to 1:56 though. Here's a more detailed list.

Because their heads and hands are huge compared to actual scale models for things the minis should hold in their hands even 1:48 might look too small. In fact 1:35 parts sometimes can work here too. But 1:48 vehicles already look a tad too large if you put them next to the minis. In addition to that the difference in the detailing gives them a different sense of scale. A 1:48 car next to a 28mm mini will be a little too large if you look at the seats, but if you look at the size of the steering wheel or nuts and bolts and fine details like that they might look too delicate.

Your best bet is to look into companies that produce in 28mm already. Here's a list of companies that do furniture that I recently wrote on here. There's a wide range of manufacturers that do animals too. Reaper, Foundry and the like come to mind. You'll probably have an easier time finding farm animals from these companies though than anything else.

I read that 0 scale (model trains) should look decent enough next to 28mm miniatures, as it is basically 1:45, so a little bigger than 1:48 which probably helps to make them look a little more heroic. I haven't seen that scale next to 28mm yet though.

If you are looking for something a little more alien check this range out. They have prehistoric mammals and dinosaurs in 28mm (and 15mm). Their humanoids don't look all that great, but the animals look really different from what we are used to seeing (even though they actually did exist) so they would be ideal for a zoo with some more exotic animals, if you don't want to go full out with the fantasy creatures.

Not sure what kind of zoo you want to put on a 10x10 foot table though, unless you meant to model a miniature zoo for your Inquisitor (Or you meant actual 10x10 foot of zoo table?). In that case look into 15mm miniatures, there is an incredible wealth of miniatures in that range as well.

Let see if I got the math right(I hate math)

There is 3048 millimetre in 10 ft long display board

1 millimetre = 2.5 ft to scale

So 3048 x 2.5 = 7620 ft in scale

So if you want to build this in real life it would be 1.443182 mile length and width. The size of San Diego zoo. Am i right on scale?

I plan to custom make a 10 foot by 10 foot table to put the project on. This idea came from a short story, which i can not remember the name of sadly.

No, 1 mm = ~2.5 inches, not feet.

10' at 28mm = 7620" = 635' = ~0.12 miles.

And sorry: I thought you meant you wanted a miniature table equivalent to 10', not to know how big a 10' table represents.
