Donkalleone
While making Armies with Battlescribe i came across several ForgeWorld Units that seem to be better GW Units (Rules wise). My Question now is: How far spread is the acceptence of ForgeWorld Rules? In Tournament and in the general WH40k Community. I want to hear the general Census. Is the general Playerbase for it or against it. For Example : The Lucious Droppod [Assault Vehicle] (50pts) with a Murderfang is redicilus Strong and only cost 15pts for what it does. Nova_chron
You still cannot charge on the turn you come in In relation to your question my group is more than content with playing forge world units and army lists. Donkalleone
Why not? it clearly states its an Assault Vehicle. The FW Rule section States that "The Dread can assault directly" overriding the Assault Vehicle Rule of WH40k in the Rulebook. Lucien Eilam
You need to read the actual rulebook. It states twice over that you can't assault on the turn you deep strike. Assault Vehicle[…]However, the Dreadnought may still not assault on the turn the Drop Pod arrives from deep strike. Drop Pod Assault[…]A unit that Deep Strikes via Drop Pod may not assault in the turn it arrives. As far as acceptance goes, you need to ask the people you play with. There's little consensus. Nobody I play with would have a problem with you bringing any Forge World unit, whereas some tournaments blanket ban all of them. Wolf Guard Dan
For tournament acceptance it depends on the size of the tournament. And for bigger tournaments the TO's may have different opinions but an individual TO is probably going to be consistent year after year. This year maybe not as consistent due to the new edition. People's opinions differ too. So you may want to talk to your hobby group for community acceptance. I think that acceptance of FW is trending upward. There are still some gamebreaker FW units but tournaments ban the and no one would want to play you in a friendly with that unit. Rift Blade
In my area FW is pretty well accepted. We usually ask each other if its a problem as there are a lot of pick up games & I can't remember the last time it was an issue. AS for Tournaments, that comes down to the TO's. It's usually stated in the Tournament outline but if not, ask your TO ahead of time. Here we usually go with a limit of 500 pts of your overall army is allowed to be FW unless you are playing a FW army list like Armoured Co. or Death Corps of Krieg. Frater Cornelius
I don't care for it because they do not have anything I would like to take. Unless they bring out TWC for the Elite slot, I'll pass :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297064-acceptence-of-forgeworld-rules-with-space-wolves/#findComment-3815346 Share on other sites
Spacefrisian
Did you get the updated version of the Lucius droppod. Those also have the bit you cant charge the turn you land. It also allows you to stay inside the pod now. So you only pay 15 points more in order for the dread to stay inside and charge the turn after. As for Forgeworld rules themselves, i would allow them as the FW rules are more balanced than the regular ruleset (in most cases).
