Whohitjohn
So I have spent along time away from both the forum and this project I started. Now if you would like to trail the wrap (or the no longer read pages of the forum) you will find my original attempt. After a hiatus I have rewritten the below for your C&C +++ Inquisitor access requested +++ ++++ Checking access rights ++++ +++ Access Confirmed +++ Good day Inquisitor, As requested here is the information on Astartes asset 00170857. Caution when engaging is advised my lord... Origins The Silver Centurions are a chapter founded from the Iron Hands legion gene seed. Founded in the late 32nd millennia as part of the 5th founding. The Chapter was created in response to the opening of corrupted web way corridors in and around the Catari system. Assigned to guard the forge worlds that these were opening on, the chapter has maintained it sentinel-ship of these worlds since. It is still maintained by our investigative minds that the Iron Hands gene-seed was only used to appease the adepts of Mars, who's concerns lay only with the forge worlds. The warp energies emitted from the corrupted web ways, have resulted in the stark contrast between then silent and somber Silver Centurions that they were when the vigil began and the head taking fanatically Emperor devoted butchers they are today. Homeworld/Recruitment: The chapter is based on a moon fortress in the out reaches of a tri-star sector called Catari. They recruit from the planetary systems with in this sector and draws recruits from three distinctive tribes: the Mors, the Grannus, and the Isha. These tribes have deep respect for each other, however are not above fighting each other for resources or to resolve matters of insult. Beliefs and traits: The Chapter hold reverence to the Emperor whom they see as their guiding light in their dark chaos infested world. They have become fanatically devoted to their beliefs. To Ferrus Manus they hold honour, as their farther, and have a blood tie to the Iron Hands. Very little remains to link the chapter to these forbears, the chapter still views flesh to be easily corruptible, and while they will augment themselves to purify themselves, they have a more savage solution for those they see corruption in or deem to have ventured from the Emperor's light, they simply behead them. The marines believe that ownership of ones head gives ownership of ones soul. Owning the head of an enemy is believed to give the marines dominion over were the soul goes in the afterlife, meaning that they can ritually commit the soul to the Emperor and his justice after the conflict is over. Marines of this chapter were once logical, silent sentinels. They would only speak when addressed or if the situation called for vocalisation. They would form lined rank defences and allow the enemy advance to them. The time spent guarding the Web ways have a devastating effect on the Marines. Driven to the edge of madness by the warp energies the corrupted portals are emitting, they clung to the very foundation of their belief in the emperor, holding to him as their light in the dark. The resultant psychological changes produced marines that are extremely out spoken, and quick to anger. The marines no longer hold ground but will charge the enemy screaming litanies of hate before smashing headlong in to then in a hand to hand frenzy. They no longer see themselves as silent guardians but the emperors executions, who have walked through the valley of darkness and emerged with his righteous purpose. Silver Centurions embraced the art of "tinkering", they will often augment their war gear or themselves should they believe this will better help them carry out the Emperor's will. Despite their increasing fanatic beliefs the chapter still maintains good relationship with many of the other chapters of the Astartes, however reluctance to work with Dark Angels (and successors of this chapter) has openly been observed. While their new beliefs have weaken their friendship with the adepts of Mars the bond runs deep due to the chapter holding a deep reverence for technology. They also hold a high disregard for the inquisitorial forces of the imperium, this has lead to deep distrust from the Inquisition and a few checks of purity have been carried out up the chapter. Thus far no major corruption has been found however the Chapter Colours: The Chapter symbol is a silver Aquila on a dark red background. The marines of the chapter paint their armour dark red with silver arms. The chapter pardon trim is bronze. Liberians, Techmarines and Chaplins follow the codex guide lines to armour colouring being blue, red and black respectively. The marines will paint tattoos on the side of their helmets, or faces, detailing their achievements. The company markings are as follows: 1st company: White 2nd company: Bronze 3rd company: Lime Green 4th company: Light Blue 5th company: Green 6th company: Purple 7th company: Navy Blue 8th company: Black 9th company: Orange 10th company: Red Force Organisation: The chapter abide to the Codex Astartes, when it comes to organisation however some distinctly different takes on it teaching can be seen. For example scouts squads are not made up of Neophytes but experienced marines drawn from the 9th company. The 10th company still maintains it's role as the training company for Neophytes, however no marine in the company will be expected to face the enemies of mankind until deemed worthy to do so by the master of recruits. Furious Retreat
Hi It seems a bit . ... disjointed. As if the different concepts that make up your chapter are not linked together well / do not flow together. I would suggest a rewrite and attempt to tie it all together better by expanding on some of the concepts for eg. " tinkering" How much and how varied? How do the MA view their " tinkering"? How does this affect the make up of the chapter? etc Hope that helps Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297100-ia-the-silver-centurions/#findComment-3816253 Share on other sites
