MustangTC
Had a crazy idea for a list! ----- RP level 2 5 PAWG 5 combi melta POD 6x 5 Grey Hunters plasma gun PODs 7x Lone Wolf TDA SS TH 2x fast empty pods Stormwolf MM sponsons 4x locator beacons 1850 ----- First turn drop 5 obsec pods all over midfield objectives, 2nd turn+ teleport menacing lone wolves whereever they are needed! 2 can go in empty pods too. SW provides air cover. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297158-the-not-so-lone-wolves/ Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
They will suffer against fast moving armies but I think they will do fine against slower ones. Personally I would toss in a few Wolf Claws on the LWs in case you face a lot of infantry. Personally, I do not think that MSU works with drop pods, but that's just me. DanPesci
Like it, think that unless folk playing dead fast deldar/eldar lists, they may stuggle to deal with 7 lone wolves. Agreed that maybe you should add a claw or two in their for different initiatives. Just wish we could still take chainfists!!! Personally id probably swap the 6x5 man GH units in pods for 3x10 man units, with double specials and a wolf guard leader with combi. Much more effective drop force. (that still has 5 drop pods). If sticking two lone wolves in pods, id maybe give those two combi weapons so they can also apply some hurt the turn they arrive. Jochteas
Can 2 lone wolves be in a pod together? I thought lone wolves where not able to be part of other units with characters. Unless you can stick 2 different units in 1 transport (which maybe but i've never heard of it but I'm relatively knew so i ask). Baulder
sadly not, just 1 squad per transport and because they cannot join each others squads you only get 1 in each. That won't be possible unless he plays Champions of Fenris, because you get 1 slot-less LW per GH or WG in your army. Well could you still get six - 3 for the GH, 1 for WG, and 2 taken in teh remaining elite slots. (couldnt remember if LW can just be taken as standard elites anymore) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297158-the-not-so-lone-wolves/#findComment-3817256 Share on other sites
