AlanofAngels
So I'm going to be making a Chapter Master soon; the usual bike, hammer and shield eternal! I was wondering, since I want to avoid the "look ma, no hands" syndrome, if people would consider it WYSIWYG if I used a shield 'generator' to represent the shield eternal I would probably use a Grey Knight interceptor backpack to do so, and could avoid having the no hands problem affect the mini. Any thoughts on that, or even ways to use a normal shield but avoid that look, would be much appreciated. Thanks! Kaedes Nex
I think I recall GW mentioning something like this in the 6E rulebook, where they had doo-dads and gizmos to represent certain save generating upgrades. Not sure though. I personally don't like the idea, just because Storm Shields do have extra rules besides the 3++ that go with them and it's such an iconic piece of wargear. The best way IMO is to have the shield on the character's back. Simply shave off the hand and glue to his backpack, or glue it to his forearm and have it worn buckler/combat shield style while he holds the bike handlebar with his shield hand. Certain players like Iron Hands (who are the ones with that infamous IWND chapter master) also like to do things like mech dendrites or whatever those tentacles are called interfacing/driving the bike. You could also mount the shield on the bike's front fairing, like as a sort of windshield or on top of the front wheel cover like a dozer blade. If you're going to go with the field generator idea, go full 40K and use like a 70's sci-fi death ray orb or Conversion Beamer/Shokk Attack Gun bit sticking straight up from his backpack. Chaplain Killmer
Or you do the Captain america style and put it on the front of the bike and reposition the bolters accordingly :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297164-the-eternal-generator/#findComment-3817134 Share on other sites
