Well, as things seem to be closing with my Space Wolves, I thought I'd pop me head up again over here and update you all on the BA plans I have.

After getting Deathstorm and building them all as per the box, I decided to build a "small allied detachment".  As per usual with my projects, this "small allied detachment now seems to be sitting at between 2-2500 points!  On top of Deathstorm, I have a Libby & Fragioso Dreadnough, Tactical Squad, 10 more Death Company, 5 Sanguinary Guard, 2 Razorbacks (with assault cannon turrets) Mephiston, Sanguinary Priest, Captain, Sanguinor and will be buying a start collecting box to add in the Baal Pred and a second tactical squad.

With any luck, these will be heading to the paint man within 8 weeks (got to get some building done!) then I get to that exciting place of waiting for painted minis to arrive!

Oh, and I've just started reading Fear to Tread and I can't put it down!

Spent some time getting the armor painted for my ETL vow. I realized today just how helpful an airbrush is. A little over an hour using two brushes and my tactials' armor is done. Now on to details and non red items. I'm real happy with how they turned out. Pictures in my signature link.

Hopefully I'll have some time to take better pictures of the Biker Squad I did for the ETL tomorrow. :smile.:

GW has a BA tactics bit on their blog:https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/blog/blog.jsp?_requestid=1303543Good for a laugh. Apparently they know their own rules that well that they think a force staff is Unwieldy and a good weapon because it can glance dreadnoughts. Ok...

Think you miss read it mate. He is stating that there isn't any point in the force axe as anything you need AP2 against will batter your poor librarian before he gets a swing in. It's better to be S6 at initiative and take on things vulnerable to instant death.

Well at least they don't know that Librarians in terminator armour have 5++ but also can take a stormshield.

I guess it makes more sense if you read it that way. Still not a really insightful write-up. Ah well, it had pretty pictures so I was entertained. :)

Those are awesome RedemptionNL! Dark and gritty just how I like Blood Angels. And that sergeant!

Dark and gritty was what I was aiming for! :) And I'm very satisfied how the sergeant turned out. His pose was inspired by Michelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel where God gives Adam the finger, except now it's a Blood Angel spreading the gospel of hot combi-melta death. :D

RedemptionNL :

It is a beautiful piece of art that you produce. To add, i would say that those would made perfect exemples for the Charnel Guard chapter.

The Shade of Dark Red / Marron used is indeed perfect for this descendant chapter.

Finally, the pose are very dynamic and fit the whole painting job.

Good Job.

My favourite bit about the blog is that it references start collecting and the captain and Baal pred are no where in sight. Rolls eyes

It's probably an attempt to 'up sell' - you've got your Start Collecting box, now what to add to it..?

Aside from the whole:

"GW hates Blood Angels, they never think about us" / " Gods, the recent article GW posted on Blood Angels is teh suck"

schtick,

Has anyone noticed increased BA covereage recently? There's been a lot more painted BA in WD weekly, a few blogs on BA tanks, the start collecting BA box...does anyone think (hope?) GW are gearing up to something?

Or is the increased coverage due to the release of the start collecting box?

One can hope. I really would like a gladius like DA has (flavored BA of course) in a new codex, or supplement. Just hope it's in the price range of AoD and not Exterminatus lol. But to keep in line with the BA today.... finally magnetized my stormraven! Now off to buy drop pod no. 5, and some bikes.

Because they hate us! Oh wait....

Wasn't there some probably unreliable rumor about a BA update later this year? Like s follow up with tyranids?
