RedemptionNL
They only have two named characters (Obyron & Zandrek) and a pricy relic (Nightmare Shroud) that grants a 2+ armour save. Rest of the army is 3+ or worse. Dolchiate Remembrancer
After quite some time of terrain building I took out my BA for a little repair and paint session yesterday. Going to try and get my tactical combat squad finished today so that I can give basing a try. Charlo
Had to cancel my game :( Stuck at work and even if I got there, my models would have straight melted in the heat I think! LutherMax
Aw that sucks man! I'm about to get ready and leave for my game – I hope my models haven't meted in the boot of my car!! Apothecary Meros
Lucky me, the Blood Angels get to tear some Eldar asunder at Warhammer World in Nottingham in two days time. Hopefully the Furioso will be nearing completion by then. Damon Nightman
How hot would it need to be for models to melt? You guys have me worried about leaving mine in my car tomorrow! I think its hotter here than over there too! Arkangilos
I don't know where you guys live, but we have tempature a in the high 90's and low 100's for weeks at a time. It's probably not best for the models, but I want to say mine survived a day. Maybe try with one and see how it does? Charlo
It's also because FLGS is a basement... in Central London... When its 32 outside, god knows what that will be D: I would have melted >< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297201-ba-today/page/131/#findComment-4478419 Share on other sites
Arkangilos
Hahaha 32 is nothing xD It won't melt in 32 degrees Celsius. We have 35-40 celsius weather quite a bit, and my models have survived. Add in the humidity that raises the temp, we can get regular days that are closer to 43 degrees. Damon Nightman
I'm east coast, about 80 to 90 with plenty of humidity... I think they will survive.... Arkangilos
Just don't leave it in the direct sunlight, and limit the exposure time to the heat. A few hours probably won't hurt them, but a few days might. Also, if it can fit in a back pack, might as well bring them inside. And it probably wouldn't hurt to test it first. Try it with one of your old models. RedemptionNL
They shouldn't melt at those temperatures, but I'd be careful with resin or finecast models. They might warp a bit if they get hot, especially thin parts that are leaning against something (like the side of a foam tray). Xenith
Err, does anyone know where our revered High Chaplain Jolemai is? He's been unusually quiet. I'd guess he's taking a very well earned sabbatical from the site to enjoy the summer, see family, catch up with work and pick up some models for ETL VI... Damon Nightman
how terrible would it be to start assault terminators on the board no transport with a SP in a friendly game against a 'not optomized" necron list? I just want to use my painted priest and termies. I don't want to find points for a JP for the priest and was just gonna deep strike the termies anyway which isn't exactly ideal. 1500pt game, not sure how much long range shooting they have or even ap 2. The Unseen
Necrons pack next to nothing with longer than 24" range, though the few that are do pack ap 2. Heavy destroyers and a doomsday ark would both make quick work of that unit, but they aren't usually used. They have wicked fast melee units though. Charlo
I was exaggerating when I said the models would melt... Do remember too they 32 degrees is a God Damn scorcher for us Brits :P Basing looks good Dolchiate! Nice contrast with the paint job colours. Chaplain Gunzhard
Can you take a locator beacon, or a teleport homer on a scout sergeant anywhere? The locator beacon would work for teleport and deep strike, but homer only for termies. So far I've found it makes a big difference if you can come in with conference. Damon Nightman
pretty sure it's the homer, but yeah it makes a huge difference imo. I always try to take one or the other if i have even 1 unit deepstriking Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297201-ba-today/page/131/#findComment-4478637 Share on other sites
Apothecary Meros
For an army where we want to deepstrike most of our stuff, a locator beacon is incredibly useful. Scout Sergeant has the option in the datasheet to take a Teleport Homer for 2 Melta Bombs ;) Interestingly a Scout Biker Sergeant can take a Locator Beacon for the same cost instead - which is actually an incredible option, considering you get infiltrate/ scout on them and can pretty much put your terminators/ anything where you want at that point. Jolemai
Err, does anyone know where our revered High Chaplain Jolemai is? He's been unusually quiet. He has been notable by his absence... Perhaps the Reclusium has granted him a period of leave for contemplation... Thanks for the concern, sadly the light of the Astronomicon could not be seen on my most recent mission... Safe to say it was a success and I'm now getting back up to speed.
