Do you do Gehenna Gold base as a substitute for the wash?

Ah no. I just found that retributor didnt give a 100% coverage over a black basecoat, so I went with a gehenna base then retributor.

I havent actually tried two coats of retributor...

So as I've mentioned around the boards I'm making a VV squad with ten hand flamers.

Had a sudden thought though, "What if I did it with death company".

I got very excited and reached for my codex.

Sadly they can only replace the bolt pistol for a hand flamer

But hey at least I have these to put on the vets when I build them:

Me? Oh just casually seething and fighting off the black rage as the bloody Raven Guard have no successfully stolen all of our rules in both 30 and 40k :P

I just want a nice decurion...

Admittedly the BSF and FTSF do offer us a lot of options and are more flexible - but this is offset by the Damn straight power from the formations that make up the Dec's.

Also the WS relics... God. Damn. Ignore cover shooting and a spear that grants +3S ap3 on the charge with a hit and run character? :(

In theory I have an evening of painting black and silver tonight. Let's see if it pans out...

... And beer :)

Silly Joelmai painting beer instead of his models.

Second Baal is coming along nicely, unfortunately I realised I didn't paint the red on the sponsons when I did the rest of the red *snaps brushes and wants to (black) rage quit*

To be honest, that's probably why it taking me so long: I'm painting the wrong thing(s)!

I've got to use a fine detail brush on a bedroom at some point too :dry.:

I got a whole bunch of stuff basecoated and varnished this weekend for a forthcoming (and somewhat overdue I might add...) friendly tournament with some friends. It's the best part of a whole new army so pretty exciting, but at the same time daunting to have so many models in a half finished state.

Still, better than having them attached to sprues in boxes, I guess ;)

Won the following ebay listings over the weekend:

  • Captain Karlaen (sprue from Deathstorm boxset) - £7.20 + postage
  • Furioso Dreadnought (sprues from Deathstorm boxset) £13.00 + postage
  • Campaign book from Deathstorm boxset (i.e. the rules for Cassor, etc) £3.99

Couldn't quite justify the £45 + postage for a Lucius Pod though. Feeling a hint of regret there...
